Villain is solid. Seems a bit like a small ball player. This really seemed out of character of a bet for him, I think his goal was to take down a big ace, but he is tricky, so he could have set and try to make it look like a big bluff.

Its really a rough spot, I really am clueless in that spot. lets not focus on my pre-flop play here, my 3bet was prety weak, it was a mistake I misclicked. Regardless, I think he knows I'm weak here, so I expect a bet. The overbet though is weird.

I think we are beat more often than not here. What do you think?

Fold... we havnt invested much into the pot. Looks like he's trying to makeup some lost value.

I'm more worried about the predicament we are in on the river if we call here. Especially OOP.

But these feels so much like a bluff, I'm trying to see a scenario where we would call.

Yeah but theres also the weird fact that we check flop and so did opponent.

We scream strength pre, and check the A high board.
We've got something or whiffed.

He now bets 30BB into a 18BB... an overbet... people aren't really that random or bad I don't think.

So you say he's a solid player... he could take your check on the flop as a decent Ace, or QQ KK

So now if he bets that much he could be looking bluffy with 2 pair type hands.

But whenever we hit an awkward spot it means we need to rewind and look what we did different that created this mess.

I don't get why we want to check the turn? Giving a freecard is awful and we can make some money here without building the pot too high.

If it was me, because I misplayed the hand so bad... i'd fold the hand.

because we have complicated the hand we are now prone to make mistakes.

thinking that we now have underrepped the hand, where opponents just play their hand and not yours... is a good way to lose money as well. We start using up our resources on nonsense things and we miss the very important things staring right in our face because we get caught up with our hand in the moment...

Opponent is betting big for a reason. Most times on the turn if opponent bets he has to have something. We have a marginal hand and with such a wet board..... we aren't doing well..

We are also OOP which makes playing the hand this passive a total nightmare.

Cbet and finish the hand on the flop and make things easier for yourself.

So most people will try and give you advice here... But it'll be totally pointless because we should never have been put in this spot.

I think you already know the min 3bet was a mistake but the check on the flop and turn is worse in my opinion. You 3betted PF and you check the flop w/ TP. I think you have to CBet here, just so you can start to narrow down peoples ranges.
