Total pot: $12.11 | Rake: $0.60

MP3 is 14 / 7 / 2.7% 3bet over 1.1k hands where he is losing at an impressive 32bb/100 clip. In 25NL he is getting destroyed at EV adjusted 43bb/100 clip :D I have him pegged as a lolbad nit who can't fold when beaten.

BTN is unknown, only 5 hands played although I see him as 80/0 so... :D

Anyway, I flat since KQo is good enough for that and I dislike 3betting it here.

Flop is great but I have to be careful since I am dominated by AQ here, so I decided to check call.

The board runs out like crap (flush + straight + paired) and I am not at all happy about my measly trips  BTN is unknown so I hero call hoping he is an idiot, which doesn't seem like a great strategy but there you go.

His sizing is pitiful but that can mean absolute nuts so he is pricing me in, or total air so I am crushing him

Opinions?

Results below:
Button had J
club.gif
, K
heart.gif
(two pair, Queens and Jacks).
Hero had K
spade.gif
, Q
club.gif
(three of a kind, Queens).
Outcome: Hero won $11.51

Opinions?

I believe that being scared of 4 combinations of AQ versus a guy who is "lolbad" and "can't fold when beaten" is a terrible reason to play such a small pot with a flopped monster.

The board runs out like crap

One of the reasons to consider check/calling oop less frequently with these hands you're binking.

Yeah :D the idea at the time was probably to allow MP to bet and BTN to call so if the turn card is not horrible after another bet from each I can nail them with my awesome trapping skills (double facepalm). Greed...

Also, I am kind of scared of paired boards, I got utterly destroyed on these things at 10NL so I am being way too careful with trips in general.

Probably a leak (earlier leak was "I have trips, yey! Money in ASAP" so now I went too much the other way).

Bet flop.

As played, check/raise flop. You can't be scared of the very top of his range when you have everything else dominated. Bad players chase draws expensively. Exploit that. Get value from your hand. You had trips and didn't raise at any point in the hand. The players who "can't fold when beaten" are the ones that give us the most money.

As played beyond the flop, raise turn. He bet less than half the pot, which almost always means weakness.

Yeah but I figured if I raise turn I get called by flushes that just arrived, better trips and what else? BTN is unknown so I have no idea if his sizing means he wants to get calls or he is scared or what.

Basically at that point I am bluffcatching/idiot catching (seriously, what is he getting called by that doesn't beat him?).

Raising flop is probably the idea.
