$25 NL HE Full Ring: player reps a narrow range and i have top pair what now

player is a 34/6/2 and havent really notice anything from him worth mentioning.

BB: $20 (80 bb)
UTG+1: $7.90 (31.6 bb)
UTG+2: $10 (40 bb)
MP1: $14.90 (59.6 bb)
MP2: $18.50 (74 bb)
MP3: $42.35 (169.4 bb)
Hero (CO): $51.68 (206.7 bb)
SB: $46.15 (184.6 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is CO with Q

5 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.65, BB calls $0.50

Flop: ($2.25) K

(3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $1.50, SB raises to $5 Hero??

do i call in position and see what he does on the turn?
if i do that do i fold to a bet about like 8 or more?

call down the rest of the way?

or do i just fold here?

im really lost here

edit: note were deep

Hand sample? If it's at all large then I check his flop ch-r percentage; anything over like %15 or 20 and it's a clear call, then proceed depending on our read on him. I guess readless that gets a little tough, so it's probably usually a fold as they'd generally give up their bluffs then.

If he doesn't ch-r much I'm not worried about a 3 so much, but more AK/AA since loose passive fish like this guy love to trap monsters/AK pf.

hand sample was about 50 hands so pretty irrelevant for any postflop stat

ya well this kind of goes back to your 'average fish' read at your stakes. I think in general at lower stakes they tend to be more passive and either won't bluff at all or will just ch-r once and give up turn, and at higher stakes they're generally more aggressive and will take the bluff further. Huge generalization, but I think it's a fair enough assumption.

In general I like taking one off then pitching the turn against a fish.

yeah ok thats pretty much what i thought, i called the flop and folded when he fired the turn.

i just didnt know if folding the flop was a better option

yea you need reads to make this work. vs some it is fine to fold the flop, some it is fine to call flop fold turn, some i'd call turn fold river, others i'd never fold it in a million years. All depends on c/ring tendencies (obv is a good board to c/r - some raise these all day while others would rather semi-bluff or try to rep a wider range on a 789 board for ex), how range is distributed over c/ring range (is this only 3x or AA or bluffs or could villain do it with K9 for example) and how far villain will go with a bluff on turn/river.

I would probably done the same. Players do like to bluff at this level, but they usually min-raise, and then check the turn so when he bets the turn as well I'm giving up.
