$25 NL HE Full Ring: KK good enough to flat in position to a 3 bet?

Opponent is 15/10/inf, agg freq of 17 over 147 hands, no 3 bets on record as yet. I'm probably running 15/10/5 or so on this table with a steal percentage of 50%, though with 147 hands than means I've seen him on at least one other table before so I don't know what stats he might have on me.

If I had AA I think I'd flat here, but is KK good enough to flat here in position? This assumes I can give it up if an Ace flops and I think he's got it.

I like the line, and think KK are good enough to flat, though I've never tried it (before reading this, I'd have 4bet to 35 or 40 BB without thinking). I'll have to try this.

Don't think you should plan on giving it up if an A hits the flop, though - he should see an A as part of your range, even if you're stealing at 50%. With a particularly wet flop that includes an A, I'd be planning to let go of the KK, but would probably try to make a play if an A hits on an uncoordinated board.

I guess my thinking is that an Ace is a big part of his range here; AA/AK/AQ maybe AJ, as well as KK/QQ/JJ/TT/KQ and maybe a few others, but he's 15/10 and this is $25nl. A lot depends on how light he thinks I'm raising/stealing here. And how/to what degree he thinks about late position/blind play, if at all.

i think an ace hits your flatting range more than his 3-bet range

he may see a flat call as an AK or AQ type hand and he may rule out KK+ entirely

as for an ace in his range lets say hes 3 betting light then theres a lot less aces in his range and if hes just 3-betting because he has a hand only AK and AA would be helped by an ace on board

i like the call to see if you can get him to spew a little if he is 3-betting light cuz he'll probably fold to a raise if he is 3 betting light

its def good enough to flat call, dont know if i like it, ur inviting more ppl in the pot and also when u flat call 3 bets u give away a lot of info on ur hand so ppl want to call with small pairs, etc trying to hit on ur aa/kk, i like 4 betting and getting it heads up

I probably would have 4bet immediately, but I would definitely flat call his raise. Then if an Ace flops play very cautious. You have position, see what he does after the flop if an Ace hits.

This is very true. I know I do. Regs don't really expect you to flat AA/KK but certainly expect it from AQ/AK and probably QQ/JJ and lower.

KK is strong enough to flat yes however that doesnt mean it is the best play. If you think he 3bets pretty light then flat, but if not just 4bet. You dont want AK and AQ hands to fold to a low flop when they would be happy to get it in preflop. I probably just pop it up here not thinking he is 3betting light.

Not many tag regs are willing to stack AK though, definitely not AQ imo.

KK is deffinately good enuff to flat here but it should play much better if you can get it heads up or take the pot down now with a 4 bet. hopefully he doesnt wake up with AA, but if so thats poker. I would 4 bet and try to isolate or take the pot now.
