SB Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 18/18/3

poker stars, $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 7 Players

CO: $25.25 (101 bb) 14/14/4 58 hands
BTN: $25.83 (103.3 bb)
SB: $28.08 (112.3 bb) 3 bet 6.7% 41 hands
BB: $25 (100 bb)
MP1: $26.27 (105.1 bb)
MP2: $17.98 (71.9 bb)
Hero (MP3): $27.44 (109.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Ks Kc
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, CO raises to $2.25, BTN folds, SB raises to $4.50, BB folds.
One of them must have aces, I can feel it in my bones... can I really lay down KK here preflop. Gut says yes just lay it down its only 75c.
CO hasn't played a hand in nearly 30 mins and is a nit. CO has three bet me twice already from the button and the blinds and i've folded to him twice. he could just be making a move.

. If one of them has aces its probably the CO.
I call... if CO has them he should raise again and I can fold..
If I can see a flop with no ace I'm intending to shove with some fold equity
Hero calls $3.75,
CO calls $2.25.

Flop: ($13.75) 6d 5s 6h (3 players)
SB bets $6.75,
Hero ?? Feeling a bit green...

GII pre always here. You don't want to see a flop. If one has aces... So is life. Always always without an absurd read get it in pre with KK. If he has literally any other hand combos but AA GII. Obv you got it in and one had aces.

Just because that happened don't question yourself.... There are other reasons to question yourself though lol. Taking a flop here is terribad. You need to get as much money in pre as possible, that should be your goal. NOT to open shove non ace flops.

You say CO has already 3bet you twice and youve folded? But you think he is the one more likely to have AA? I definitely think the sb has AA alot more than the cutoff. However I dont think a pair of aces is the only hand in his range. I think you COULD fold here and it wouldnt be horrible, might actually be an extremely good laydown, or you could jusy 5bet call off? I dont think calling is great because lets face it, if the flop comes 9high, you're all in. Basically anything other than an A on flop and youre all in. So you should be looking to get it in pre where he might occasionally have AK and GII pre but not on a 9high flop. Does that make sense? I think 5bet calling off would be my plan as its just too sick to fold kings imo. I also dont mind folding but I dont think I could lay it down.

Sorry SB had three bet me twice. not the CO.
Actually I don't think its terrabad to call in this spot and then shove on an ace free flop, it massively reduces the chance of losing to AK which is a hand that is going to feature in these sort of scenarios a lot. Yes you might lose value when AK folds to a flop shove but there is already a lot of money to win and you will lose less if the ace hits the flop. In either case if they have aces you are felted anyway.

Yeah exactly, so I think you should try to get the most amount of money in whilst there is a chance you are ahead (Pre). If the money goes in post you are behind almost all the time apart from maybe he has QQ.

After what you just said as well I think folding is even worse, probably worse than calling, you get 3bet by CO. His range isnt super wide but he has AA-JJ maybe even TT. He also has AK and AQs right? Sb you know is aggressive and likes to raise preflop so could be given about the same range, maybe a little smaller. Therefore Id say you were ahead of both ranges and should 5bet call off. I think it would be a big mistake not to. Again this is just my opinion and Id like to know what some other more experienced players think, John for example.
