Raise ~2.25-2.45 pre, flop check is fine, turn you could bet closer to ~2.75 and river is fine. If you did raise more pre, you could probably bet over $3.00 on turn and villain bets over $5 on river since pot is enlarged so your small 3 bet pre maybe cost you about 5-8 bbs. Also, may have made villain feel closer to pot committed and may call off river.

One last thing, buy in for 100bb's if you want to make the max out of these sorts of hands.

I probably bet the flop. It's such a dry flop that we will likely want to c-bet at it with most of our misses after 4-betting. Villain should know this, so he will probably be calling widely as well on the flop.

except for buying in Full and slightly larger 4bet as we are out of position I would have played the same

Yeah I probably also bet flop. Smallish. We probably bet almost 100% of our range here. I think a check is suspicious here.

Also, why do you not have a full stack?

I thought you got the maximum value of it.

At river, if you bet half the pot, surely would call but fold to whole pot, which is equal to your check raise move.

Well, It's very easy to say what what one could have done better after the game is finished. :D

Maybe i'd made a light bet after the flop. This sometimes shows a weak game better than a check. When you bet again after the turn your opponent could think you're just cbeting. Just in theory..

After the river, shove would be a bad idea, so you had two options: Cbet or check raise. With a Cbet, perhaps the villain could shove trying to steal the pot. But he could fold too.

Well, this is just another option of strategy, I think you did a good game, with a nice value.

ok so i have gotten rid of the crap hands and now i am playing fewer hands than i used to and also occasionally stealing blinds from CO and HJ very well with mediocre hands.

got my VP down to 20~ or less from 30+

now i see a problem with this strategy. people now has a read on me. they can easily tell what hands i have when i do a 3bet or raise from early or mid positions. today i was surprised to see somebody calling my 3bets with hands like 89s whos normal 3bet calling range is JJ+

it makes sense for them to do that because they know as long as they are dodging the high cards on the flop and hitting a pair or better with some draws they are all good to go aggressive on me.

today i had to slow play my AKs AQs after i missed the flop or even with a pair. because people were playing any low suited connectors or even their JTo was good against my big aces as long as they dodged the high cards.

so what do i do now?

Raise more pre. Bet the flop (smallish). Bet turn larger. I like the river CRAI though.
