This seems like an easy fold to me, but is it right? I assume that the other player who bet probably hit a pair on the board, or maybe he was just bluffing? Can anyone tell me if I made the right fold? Or should I have been more aggressive? I thought that on the BB I should just check preflop, but maybe a raise would have made it mine? Thanks for any feedback, sorry if this is a noobie question also...

p.s.-i kno alot are gonna say my first mistake is buying in for not 100bb, i understand, but i only do 50bb it's just my style

Not raising this preflop is criminal.

okay, yeah thats what i thought...is there a thread about playing from the blinds? do i raise the top 4, A-A K-K Q-Q A-K, and limp/check with other top hands? i guess i should know, or do know that i am supposed to raise/reraise the top 4 from any position, oops....i think i was afraid of giving my hand away....but it would have prolly been better to represent strength by raising preflop, and maybe winning it right there....but what about other hands other than the top 4 like A-x(s) and J-J 10-10 9-9 8-8....i think just call or check if limpers before me? min raise if folded to me on sb? and if big raise just call?

Your style? Please explain more...

I guess if this is your "style" up to the turn, then yes, a fold is fine.

i just hate how everytime i post a hand history a bunch of people say my first mistake is not buying in for 100bb, sometimes i buy in for 5$ at the .05/.10 sometimes 10$, sometimes i play the .02/.05 and i mostly buy-in for 100bb but sometimes 90, i dunno...just depends what i wanna play, and how much i feel like putting on the table.....i ike to play diff games, and diff buy-ins, sometimes 7-game, sometimes HA, sometimes horse, sometimes limit or nl holdem, just whatever i feel like atm, sometimes i play the deep stacked .02/.05 or .05/.10 for 200bb

It seems like you play poker just for the fun of it so you play with a variety of games. I would at least stay consistent, either full stack or short stack. Also if you want to beat the game, you should focus on 1 game. But anyways, that's not important at the moment. The important thing is how to play this hand with AK OOP. AK is often overplayed, in general, you should 3bet no matter where you are at. And about the pairs like JJ and below, I would still 3bet with JJ and or maybe TT in this hand. It really depends on your opponents.

PS - the next time you post, please add stats of you and your opponents. It's easier and you'll get more accurate analysis.

1. reraise preflop.
2. turn= normally i fold, but it seems like the sb is just sensing weakness and taking the pot. What exactly does he call with preflop that hits that board other than sets and pocket pairs..
I say fold 80% of the time, call 5% of the time, but raise 15% of the time.

Generally, 4 bet re-raise preflop. You probably take the pot then. If pf re-raise is called, 1/2 pot bet on the flop whatever the cards.

As played, folding is now correct.

As everyone has said we shoule be reraising this preflop - because it's a squeeze your hand doesn't necessarily look as strong as it actually is to your opponents. You're reraising simply because you are likely to have the best hand and want to get heads up with the dead money from the small blind in the pot though - the squeeze underrepresenting your hand thing is merely a small bonus.

Seeing as you just called preflop, you can't do anything but check-fold the flop/turn, though.

You mean that we need to balance our play at 25nl ???

No, I was just saying that some times a raise there could pick up the pot. Folding is mostly right but i believe a raise could be profitable, because, in my experience, people try to rep a made draw if no one is contesting the pot.
