What do you guys think of this play? The villain is 17/13 over 1.3k hands, his 3bet is 5 percent, so i figured the only hands i was beating are AK and possibly AQ, but i doubt he would raise my flop bet with them.

Fold or 4 bet pre, I prefer a fold. Dont like flatting oop, just causes trouble.

I would rather c/c the flop and not just fold out AQ+. The problem with betting the flop, all of his range calls... then what? Do we barrel the turn? What if an overcard comes, are we check/folding?

We would have to call it off. His 3 bet isnt really high enough to be 4 betting gii profitably. Thats why I prefer a fold.

It's close pre but it's a fold since he's 3betting your UTG open and he's doing it with a fairly large 3bet. As played I HATE leading the flop. It makes zero sense to do that with almost anything.

^ agree.

When you call the 3-bet and lead the flop youre essentially playing your hand against the board and not your opponents range. I think if you call the 3-bet, which is marginal, then I think we have to just call the flop and most likely the turn as well.

Couple things to think about when ur leading here which i think will help u realize why its not great..
- if he jams over top, what do you do?
- if he flats, what do you do on A,K,Q turns?

Basically, by leading we're only getting hands that we beat to fold except maybe AK.

I think Id fold flop but if I call Im just x/c all the way down

Fold pre (yeah I know... :D), unless he has a habit of attacking UTG opens from MP (unlikely but some do). As played, were you leading to see where you were, or were you betting for value hoping he peels with AK or something? x/c is best here, or even x/f if we know anything about how villain plays post. Really not keen on this hand at all tbh.

I agree fold preflop. When u open utg and get raised its not a maniac its a guy with kk+. Unless ur deep and can hit a set. Generally playing oop in this situation sucks. Terrible to donkbet he would put u allin even with air...

Ditto

I'm guessing your flatting JJ in the hope he has some bluffs and will miss with AK. Your donk bet folds out his bluffs (they'll be few and far between) and AK.

4betting would be vile and if I was to call the 3bet it would be to setmine but I don't think we have the odds to do so.

You can't donk this flop if you have any intentions of folding.
