$0.10/$0.25 No Limit Holdem (9 players)
SB Hero: $96.64
BB: $27.73
UTG: $25
UTG+1: $26.60
MP: $86.53 VPIP 56% PFR 14% AGG 1.4 HANDS 79
MP+1: $23.70 VPIP 15% PFR 3% AGG .9 HANDS 100
MP+2: $50.56
CO: $17.25
BTN: $24.61 VPIP 41% PFR 22% AGG 2.0 HANDS 2,800

Pre-flop: ($0.35) Hero is SB and dealt :5h4: :5s4:
2 folds, MP raises to $1, MP+1 calls $1, 2 folds, BTN calls $1, Hero calls $0.90, BB folds

Flop: ($4.25) :4h4: :2c4: :3c4: (4 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $2.83, MP+1 calls $2.83, BTN folds, Hero so we have a pair with a straight draw and looks like there is $9.91 in the pot now and will cost us $2.83 to see the turn that's 3.5 to 1 pot odds What's our plan

Note:Both players left have low Agg %

Me personally I would raise this up to $8 or $9 to see what's up but I'm an aggrotard so take it with a grain of salt. Obviously there's nothing wrong with calling here you're getting good odds to do so.

I just feel like there are tons of bad turn cards that can scare us off our hand when we have a very good shot of being ahead right now. These guys aren't on the aggressive side so even if we flat and turn an off suit Ace which is our best card I don't know how much action we're going to get outside of AK/AQ.

So after all that incessant babbling I'm back to saying you should raise this up to $8 or $9 although calling is perfectly fine and probably the line all the folks below me will suggest :).

Yeah id call, we havent hit our set so im not totally excited about this hand multiway with fish, but it's gotta be good a certain amount of the time.

Maybe i'd donk the flop like half pot just to get information for cheap whilst the pots still small

Definitely call, possibly raise, this is the best flop you could hope for without a 5 so definitely continue. Mp is a whale and MP+1 is a nit, so MP+1 can easy have a combo draw + overs here (Aqcc, AJcc, maybe KQcc), we certainly don't wanna give him a free card so I think we should raise and proceed carefully on club/K/Q/J turns.

Call, I don't raise.

*We have showdown value
*Our draw isn't that good (lacks implied odds)
*We are deep

The bottom two are the most important. If an ace lands can you really see yourself getting 300BBs in on a A234 board and do anything other than split. Even a huge fish slows down on boards like that. Also there are a lot of horrible situations you can run into whilst building your 300bb split pot. A flush could appear, the board could pair, 56 could show up.

At 300bbs you need to really think hard about whether the hand your draw makes is good enough for huge pots before raising. If it isn't call and keep the total pot size to 100bbs. 1card straight draws on flushdraw boards are not multiway 300bb hands even vs fish.

I think I'd like a flop donk bet here better than ch/calling or ch/raising. Leading for like $2.75 into 3 players will get lots of respect if anyone is paying attention and even if they're not getting raised on that board is really unlikely (by anything you've got good equity against anyway).

As played I'd call.

Would be a fun spot to shove 100 BBs.

This is one of those spots where, if you raise, you're going to puke a little in your mouth if he 3-bets you.

Im going to take the other side and show my reasons to fold.

First we have the worst overpair on a 2 flush flop with a oesd. What are our outs if we are behind? I think an A is an out and probably a 6. Clubs are dirty so we have 6 awesome outs. A 5 isnt an out imo because with super big vpips, these guys will have every ace in both their range so that 5 gives them a straight more often than not.

Now if we call, most cards are going to be a bad card for us. The only cards that would be great are 666, AAA. Cards that might be ok are 44, 333, 222. No one will improve very often if those come down.

So lets call and a bad card comes, we will have to fold to a bet here and chances are they wont be xing it down to the river for a free showdown.

Lets say we hit our awesome outs. A 6 or A comes on the turn. Do you think even bad players will stack off with worse hands an a 234A or 2346 board? I think the chances of them folding is much higher when the money really starts getting in.

So basically we dont have many outs and not very good implied odds. We might have the best hand but far too often a bad card will come and because theres 2 others in the pot, theres a good chance they will already have something or hit the turn. If we hit our 6 clean outs, we probably wont be getting paid off because the board is very scary and even the worst players dont stack off too light on a 4 straight board.
