Right so as of yesterday i went through my 25nl database and went through lots of things, blind play, positions, stealing, suited connectors, lots of other stuff and most of it was looking fine but i noticed i was losing with 22-55 so im gonna post some small pp hands, although the losing could just be due to a small sample size (23k) as im winning with all other pocket pairs except for like 99 and JJ which i think is just variance.

Right, Im not sure if i should of even bothered betting the turn but is firing on the flop when checked too a good idea? I thought if villain bet at any point in the hand i would have to fold so betting would be my only chance of taking the pot away. Villain is complete unknown.

I think 5xbb is a bit big I think. It means small PPs will lose much of their' implied odds. Your' cbet then has to be bigger proportional to the size of the pot. I think it bloats the pot too quick. Unless you have a lot of call stations you could tighten up and increase your' preflop raise.

Cbetting is fine but when he calls I think you should check fold. He will check on the flop to you even if he has a hand because you were the preflop aggressor

Also think your' bet sizes should be bigger, the turn bet looks really weak at less than half the pot. That's why raising 5xbb becomes expensive

Why are you talking about his preflop raise? He flatted PF with his pp.

Taking a stab on the flop is fine I think but I would just check the turn.

I thought i could collect the dead money because he checked to me and i figured my pair of 5's is not gonna be the best hand by showdown very often? Plus i had position. Think its better to just give up here?

I think the first question should be how to play this preflop.

With a hand like 55 vs an unknown we cant have a plan for how to play it through. We dont know if we're setmining or playing the hand for its face value. I feel like a fold or a 3 bet are both better then calling here. It just depends what kind of table image you are trying to establish.

Any ace, 99-KK, maybe even 66-88.... i guess im behind a lot, KQ,KJ,KT,QJ,QT,JT would maybe fold though? Even so i guess the point you're trying to make is that theres a lot more that is ahead than isnt? I'd be betting here against regs all the time though if they checked to me and i thought they were giving up, but against an unknown probably better to just setmine and give up? Thanks, i like the question.

If you're gonna bet the turn bet more, mostly just give up after he calls flop.

I agree. I like the flop bet when checked to but if you are going to double here you need to make a real bet (~$3.85 - $4).

i wasnt saying to just give up, I like betting the flop and I like betting the turn too but I bet much more on the turn than you did. I was just asking those questions to see what you were thinking/what was your plan for the hand
