Agressive for me anyway.

I'm often stuck wondering what to do here.

I'm pretty sure villian has a strong hand and decide to see how strong.

I decide that I am going to play this like I have AA.

full tilt poker Game #2104054944: Table Dolphin Landing - $0.10/$0.25 - No Limit Hold'em - 20:17:49 ET - 2007/03/30
Seat 1: Arthur Buco ($0), is sitting out
Seat 2: LoDog33 ($23.70)
Seat 3: WiseGuy007 ($6.80)
Seat 4: Hurricane Willy ($24.75)
Seat 5: ProudDonkey ($35.80)
Seat 6: Kop Striker ($37.85)
Seat 7: sflynn ($24.05)
Seat 8: Notorious_JL ($24.75)
Seat 9: hppyplace ($17.90)
Hurricane Willy posts the small blind of $0.10
ProudDonkey posts the big blind of $0.25
The button is in seat #3
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to LoDog33 [Ah Kd]
Kop Striker raises to $0.50
Arthur Buco adds $10
Arthur Buco has returned
sflynn raises to $2
Notorious_JL folds
hppyplace folds
LoDog33 has 15 seconds left to act
LoDog33 raises to $5 - what do you think of the reraise, dangerously close to a minraise?

More to come...

If villian comes over the top of you do you fold? I prefer calling & after button & small blind act you have position on all but possibly the button who is shortstacked + you get to see the flop.

I thought I would isolate. If villian comes over the top of me I have a tough decision

WiseGuy007 folds
Hurricane Willy folds
ProudDonkey folds
Kop Striker folds
sflynn calls $3
*** FLOP *** [8s 5c 7c]
sflynn checks

My range on him was basically 1010+, AJ+ with AA KK AK less possible due to me having AK

Well checking here is out of the question for me.

SO we have to bet.

Youve represented a lot of strength preflop, so i think your only option now is to keep betting strong.

Tough spot since villain could have an overpair to board, but maybe itll just scream aces to him even then that hed consider folding a 1010...

Or you could bet not so strong, if villain isnt too agressive but calls, you could maybe put him on a pp and decide to let it go.

But you re-re-raised preflop so i go for a strong flop bet.

You raised P/F strong, anything else looks suspect, or that you're trying to slow-play in a remedial manner :) Bet the pot, it's a low limit room! :D

I agree that a bet was mandatory.

I made this bet thinking for some reason it was closer to the pot but I gave pretty good odds to carry on depending on his holding.

LoDog33 bets $6
sflynn has 15 seconds left to act
sflynn: ladies no good
sflynn folds
Uncalled bet of $6 returned to LoDog33
LoDog33 mucks
LoDog33 wins the pot ($10.35)
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $10.85 | Rake $0.50
Board: [8s 5c 7c]
Seat 1: Arthur Buco is sitting out
Seat 2: LoDog33 collected ($10.35), mucked
Seat 3: WiseGuy007 (button) didn't bet (folded)
Seat 4: Hurricane Willy (small blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 5: ProudDonkey (big blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 6: Kop Striker folded before the Flop
Seat 7: sflynn folded on the Flop
Seat 8: Notorious_JL didn't bet (folded)

I think the 6$ bet was weak. Thats approximately half the pot.

I dunno if he really had queens.

If i had queens id be strongly suspecting you had a higher pair too, but theres no way id call a 5$ bet preflop then fold to a 6$ ragged flop bet. Id at least call. And thats what you wouldnt want. Since turn will be very difficult with your stack.

So i think you should have made one big pot size stab at it.

With AK, I would have raised more. I think it is one of those hands in this situation where you slowplay (So you just call) or play aggresive (at least 3X original the raise).
