The only reason I'd ever really raise over an overbet this big would be if I thought there a) was a really good chance villain typo'd his size, and/or b) he's really really aggro/bad in which case he might do something like spazz out with Tx here.

In general though, significant overbets (ie not like 30/25 in a big pot for ex) are always the nuts. Nobody overbet bluffs very often if at all, and if they do it's nowhere near often enough to look them up with middling hands.

I just bet turn btw.

So yeah. What i was thinking was this.

He bet $28 and Im like hmmm. ? Then instantly I thought He meant to make it 2.8 and stab at the pot. So I shoved.

River: ($67.35) J :diamond: (2 players - 1 is all in)
Final Pot: $67.35
BTN shows Q  9  (a pair of Aces)
Hero shows Q :diamond: Q :club: (two pair, Aces and Queens)
Hero wins $64.35
(Rake: $3.00)

before he even called off the last $3 he was typing how he wanted to only make it $2.80. LOL
He was typing in the chat box for the next 20 minutes. Saying how if it was him he wouldve folded to that overbet.

I had a read. I went with it. Costly mistake on his part.

Very much THIS. I'm just folding here. The problem is that you will, on occasion, discover an opponent who went crazy which positively reinforces otherwise spewy behavior. That's the exception, rather than the rule, IME.

I just bet turn btw.

Against an aggro opponent, probably not much difference long-term between betting the turn and check/calling. I think I prefer the latter, in an attempt to get to a cheap showdown.

Btw, you calling a raise?

Lol, just read results. Nice. :D

Who said he was aggro?

Whether or not I'm continuing on the turn vs a raise depends heavily on my opponent. People don't often check back trip aces, so my first thought is that he's not repping much. My second thought is that it's just a weird and unlikely spot for a bluff, so I may just give him credit for a hand bigger than QQ.

It depends.
