$25 NL HE 6-max: Rivered Straight on Gross Board

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 19/13/3.2

Have like 1.2k hands on villain. No real history between us and he's obviously not thinking on a really high level. I've been playing fairly laggy this session, like 27/27 at this table though I doubt he notices. Don't think I've seen him cold call a 3-bet in the past so not sure quite what to make of it. I figure once he calls the C-bet he most likely has AK or like TT-QQ but I'm probably way off. Clear fold, clear call, punch the monitor, kill a kitten?

CO was a stupid lag who plays horribly post-flop btw.

I call, but im not happy about it. Expect it to be a high variance play but profitable long term. I just dont see him checking QQ on turn, nor flatting kk from the blinds. the only real hand i see him flatting that beats us is JJ, which i play exactly like this if im flatting from the blinds (which i almost never do btw, for sure not vs a lag)

But thats one hand, and even if he only does it with precisely AK, AA, and JJ then we profit.

yes, they were probablyt planning on check/calling on turn for stacks, but are just shoving now for what they think is value

I'd snap shove AA for value here, and I think we should be breaking our fingers calling. Don't fold near nuts in 3-bet pots.

if you are going to 3-bet 9t preflop and c-bet flop multiway you MUST call as played. he can put you on a very weak hand right now, like a medium pocket pair, AQ or whatever, making a value shove. He could also have KQ/KJ thinking that a higher king like AK will lose here. unless he has quads or a softly played KK-JJ you should be more than fine.

I call this hand for the same reasons as stated above. He also might have interpreted your turn check back as weak and fired for value

FWIW killing a kitten was a close second
