$25 NL HE 6-max: Could I played this any different, and not lost?

I was in the BB, had 4/6 off, everyone folded to the button who just straight called, the SB folded, and I CHECKED. Flop comes 6, 2, 6. I lead out with pot size bet and the button straight calls, turn comes 10, I bet the pot and BB still just straight calls. River comes Ace, and there are no flushes or Str8's that can be made, so I bet the pot and the BB goes all-in for another $10, b4 he goes all-in, the pot is around $8, so I call his all-in and he shows Q 6 suited. I lose about $15 and I was just wondering if I should have raised pre-flop, or was I just destine to lose this pot... What could I have done, besides just straight folding pre-flop?????
I know at this level of play, every1 gets loose calls, and he did have a decent hd, but how could I have played it, so I didnt get trapped into an all-in on the riv?
Thanks,

I'd have checked the river.
On the turn their range is entirely overpairs or better trips/FH.

That ace will ruin said overpair so we should check/call and give them room to bluff.
Try and control the size of the pot a little more, your stack to pot ratio was huge and your kicker not great.
Sure the range of hands that beat you aren't big but the range of hands that are prepared to stack off positively crush your hand.

I notice your on Poker Nordica (merge network)

If that converter doesn't work its because its incompatible with that site.

This one may work for you.

I don't think you could have gotten away from the hand.
But when the villian kept calling when the board had no texture i would start thinking he was slowplaying and i might have bet 1/2 to 3/4 pot on the turn in case he hit a set of 2's or a higher six.

I still think that you played it right and you were destined to lose, lol.

Good to see a Bama fan in here..
Theres no point in betting the pot on the river, the only way he'll call is if he has you beat. Instead either check to induce a bluff or bet half the pot or so for value and go from there. Also, if villian calls a pot sized bet on the turn you know he has something, especially when he has seen a low pair come out on the flop after you just checked BB.
