Villain is an unknown fish with stats of 40/0 over 10 hands.
On the flop he took ages to check and then ages to call which I think is often a monster

depends on the fish. 10 hands in this spot sucks!

if hes just been calling/limping everything pre and just folding flops its tough. hes obv not been spewing otherwise youd snap this off.

if youre rolled you should always call this vs fish i think. theres just sooooo many worse jacks that theyll do this with. if he has AJ its just a sick cooler. if he has the flush you still have 10 outs

I'd be very tempted to call, and depending on day the I might call or fold this one. If you call I think you would win a fair amount of time, sucks if it's one of those spots where he has you. But I can see a fish doing this not only with a worse J but with a 7 as well.

The only reason I'm even remotely considering folding here is because he's shaping up to be a passive fish, and usually when passive fish ship it in like this they have a very strong hand.

The question is basically figuring out how much he over-values a bare J here, and how low a J he can have. Based on the info given I think you have to call.

Passive fish never does this with a 7 unless it's like 7 with a gutshot or something, and even then more likely he would have aggro stats rather than passive ones if that was true.

Sick spot
I don't think he has 77 as normally passive fish wait until the river to shove. Could be a 7, a jack, a flush or a pp. I would probably fold here. If he had stats like 40/35 then I would probably call
