Just rolled for 25NL with 750 plus, first days play, something just didn't feel right.. was around 60up playing 4 tables, after this fold everything seemed to go downhill lol. Easy call? bad play by me? Marginal?

thanks.

I'm not a cash game player myself but if I was faced with the same situation I don't think I would have been able to find a fold in that spot. The way the action went down you had to be putting the CO on 77, TT to make that fold. could it have been possible they were on some sort of combo draw like 89d or J9d? My personal instincts put the CO on JJ

I don't think he was on a draw, He was the tightest player at the table with VPIP of just 13%, I think a player like that calls to hit draws by not risking too much money, no way he shoves turn with a flush draw, don't know what he had but IMO I think he would of had most likely 77 or 10's but as you said JJ is a real possibility , I don't know, it probably is a call in the long run, weird spot.

Don't fold sets.

Your right. Just the way the action went; being tight with a flush/straight draw don't think he re-raises flop and shoves turn! Even if he did have 77etc; folding sets can't be good long term for sure !

I did play it pretty bad though I guess; should of just shoved flop, if he's got me he's got me..

I thought you posted two separate hands but they turned out to be the same. Folding a set here was a bad play. A set is just too strong a hand as others have said.

If you do not choose to shove the flop then consider leading out with a strong bet on the turn as the board is soaking wet and we cannot afford it to be checked around. So either 4bet shove on flop or lead out on turn.:icon_bigs

I had a 25nl hand similar to this recently bottom set against heavy action on a ten high flop and folded. The guy driving the action had AT and the guy who called had JJ and you feel like a Wally......don't fold sets unless someone very nitty and very passive is all in.
Here the guy driving the action called pre to an utg raise so he could be as strong as QQ if he is tight and passive.
You didn't give us stats so it's difficult to comment you mention 13% presumably this was his vpip but over how many hands and is he passive or aggro. It all makes a massive difference as to whether you call it off or not.

Sorry just seen the stats. 37 hands on the CO and he has 3bet once or twice not enough evidence that he can't be forcing tptk or an overpair
I'd be getting it in here.

This is pretty close. This guy is extremely tight for 6max and his line is incredibly strong as well. I feel like you probably made a good fold quite a bit here but "don't fold sets at the micros yada yada" as well. Basically, flip a coin for me. I am probably not good enough to fold here though.

i wouldnt have folded there

but i dont really know how hes been playing

the key here i think is that he likely doesnt put you on a set so he thinks you have maybe a draw or something

i think he put the original raiser on high cards so he wanted to isolate with maybe just a T or maybe even jacks... he could have a draw too but i dont think so

then when he sees you call the bet and raise on the flop he thinks you have a draw so he wants to end the pot on the next street

it is possible that he read it as strength though and that he does have 77 or TT but the impression i got was more like a hand like QT KT AT (maybe even JJ?) and i think youre ahead enough of the time in that situation to call

good luck

Give. That you have too little hands for the stats I would call here, but the stats are the ones that tell you if you should call or fold
