villian and I have only played 1 significant hand against each other, blind vs blind. he limps my BB check 9/10. flop comes out 994. he checks and i check behind. turn puts a flush draw out there and i bet half the pot, he calls. river bricks and now he leads for the pot, i raise 4x pot, he min-re-raises me and I call, he flips 96 and i take the whole pot. anyway, here is the hand, what are your thoughts?

Maybe he has a flush? But I think there's sufficient doubt for you to call his bet. There's $7 in the pot already so you only need to win this 42% of the time. A good player with just a flush draw would fold it on the turn. Otherwise he'd have to have something like T5 or T6 to beat you. I'd call and expect to lose to a flush half the time.

Smellls like a flush. Bet the flop with 2 diamonds. Check/called the turn when a diamond didn't hit, then bet out when a diamond came on the river. Pretty weird betting pattern for anything else.

He's definately played it like a made draw. Given the previous hand with him you have to give him credit for a big hand.

That said, what is his flop bet about? 50c into a $2.10 pot. If he's semi-bluffing wouldn't he bet a bit bigger?

yeah, i folded, because of the previous hand where he lead out his trip 9's on the river, and his line smelled just like a flush draw
