$25 NL 6-max: Since I bluff too much, I have to play the hand this way?

Don't have the exact hand history, but its pretty easy to remember.

Villain is like a 20/16 TAG regular. We have a lot of spewy history between us, and I've been 4-betting/floating his 3-bets a LOT. I'm playing super TAG in this session, and running at 18/16, but I'm not sure if he notices since we have so many sessions where I've been running 35/30 or so.

================================
~32$ effective stacks

Hero is on the button with :jd4::jc4:

3 folds, Hero raises to $1.00, SB raises to $3.50, BB folds, Hero calls.

Potsize = $7.25

Flop:
:jh4::10d4::js4:

SB bets $4.25, Hero raises to $12.50, SB calls.

Potsize = $32.25

Turn: :jh4::10d4::js4::6h4:

SB checks, Hero shoves for $16.00
================================

Given our history, and the fact that we play with each other a lot, is taking this line good even though I have the immortal nuts? Otherwise when I get angry on a flop like this the nuts won't ever be in my range right?

If this was an unknown opponent, it's a check call and a raise on the river. Since it's an opponent you play with many times, it's different. Your opponent's call on the flop must have sent a "ca-ching" noise in your head. A shove on the turn is really just a slightly larger bet than the flop bet. If he has anything and thinks you bluff a lot, he'll likely call.

I'd be surprised if you don't get a call here. Your bet is only 1/2 pot and with your history he should be willing to look you up light.

I don't get why you think this, isn't c/c and a river raise telegraphing the fact that we have the nuts ? Personally I like the way the OP played the hand, even against an unknown, and I perfer it better with the history.

Looks fine. Calling flop as a sort of fake float and betting/shoving turn seems equally fine to me though.

yea this is probably the best line. good flop to bluff raise and with only a 1/2psb left, sticking it in on the turn looks as bluffy as anything else you could do here.

All been said above, I think. I like it, even more with the history.

That turn card is about as blank as they come, so whatever he's called you with on the flop he's gotta think it's still good.

Yeah, he folded when I jammed the turn. I have no idea what he was floating with, but its so strange for him to fold getting like 3:1.

Sounds a hell of a lot like AK, or maybe AQ, that really didn't expect you to fire again. Could be an uber-nitty overpair that's figured you just have to have a jack too, but it sounds a lot more like the AK.

Awful flop call in either case though - the AK has gotta realise you're not getting away with only $16 left, and surely an overpair just three-bet shoves the flop rather than calling?!?

I wouldn't worry so much about balancing your range. Opponents are not going to be that observant. Now if in the past he has looked you up light or some other history you played it the only way you could, but in general I think you over-estimate how much people observe. I'd check turn and call/jam river. Always give villain enough rope to hang himself.
