Villain is a 27/13/30%, and can make bluffs in small pots.

Am I only getting called by better on the river?

Your bet after the flop was a greedy one, right? :)
I mean, you couldn't possibly dream of a better flop - The only issue here is if the opponent has a flop pocket pair (44, 55, 66)... Even if so, you still have a better hand with the straight, however, letting him see another card is risky, I wouldn't give him another cheap card and would've raised a lot more after the flop. The river is bad news for you as now, his potential pocket pair could becom a FH (in case he has 44 or 55) or a quad (6s) - I think if I reached to see that river, I would've checked (and be ready to call any bet because still, the odds are on your side)

Eh, I think there's still value in betting, but not over-betting the pot. In hindsight, I think bet/folding for ~$9 is about right against a solid opponent.

"however, letting him see another card is risky"

Hence poker is called gambling. This isn't news.

Check the river? seriously? in 25 six max? you're getting called by all numbers of raggy trip sixes, overpairs, A9, but you're going to check the river because it's "risky", because you don't want to gamble, because you're not a gambler right?

I think you overbet, valuebet is more in order to keep all those marginal hands you beat in the hand.

I don't really like the overbetting the pot on the river. Unless he thinks it's a bluff I can't see him calling you.

You have a good hand but it's vulnerable. He could easily have a better straight or a FH.

I don't think check/calling is great, because if he puts a big bet in then that gives you a difficult decision.

I think I'd go for a defensive bet of about $8/9. You'll get action from overpairs and two pair. If he raises then he's probably got the FH (as I think a raise on this board given the action with anything less is a bit daft) and you can get away from it.
