What's your reasoning for raising the flop?

I can't really answer that because I'm the villian in this example - I'm not telling you what I had here :)

I found this an interesting hand so I'm posting it on two different forums with the roles reversed on each :)

I am not the hero of this piece but was present.

I think the hero's reasons for raising were basically that the game is very loose and aggro, and that a reasonable percentage of the time villain may be taking a stab with air/worse than middle pair

Looks like a clear fold on the lead flop bet. I just can't imagine when it makes sense to call a bet on that board.

Heh, well it was a terrible raise and hero shouldn't be in this spot in the first place. As played it's a very easy fold. Unless villain is a complete maniac, he shouldn't be in here with at least a semibluff which has good equity against us and probably won't let go of his hand, so we have to fold.

Alright, but what kind of result do we expect, as Hero, to come from raising air or some weak pair?
