omg i'm actually playing poker again

villain is 33/6 over two orbits or so but hasn't been in any significant pots. judging by his stats and short stack alone, i'm sure he's not very good

So we're getting slightly more than 2.5:1, and we're against a spewy shorty blind vs. blind with a turned top pair. No way I can find a fold here. A9, sets, and 96 are about all you really care about.

In my experience, BvB at 25$ NL with fish, they get crazy in BvB pots. While the limits are higher, the fish probably still have the same mentality.

I might bet the turn a little harder, just so he's more priced in when we shove river. Not to mention he's like never folding a 9 to just 1 bet here. Other than that, I like it.

So weird seeing a ha thread from you :)

IMO, that's because he was not in the VIP list in the now-locked thread about the best male players of cardschat. :D And when people started saying he should be in, other people said he possibly could not qualify as he posted less than one post per day.

Problem is: now Jagsti is going to make another thread about one-liner spam in HA forums from people who want to reach the 500 posts mark.

Seriously, though, nice to read your opinion Chris.

I have posted in the HA forum before. It's just that I kinda limit myself to 100NL+ threads because that's where I feel I can give reasonable advice.

As far as the one-liner response goes, let me add some more: I would value bet the river because a player like our villain will not fold a weaker Jack, not a 9, possibly not even a 6.

When we check and he bets the river, he either made Aces Up, he has a complete monster or he has something stupid like a busted gutshot or pocket 44. But let's face it: 80% of the time he has a busted flush draw :D
So this is a standard call I think.

but what one-pair J hands can he have? incredibly few. there are way more missed draws. also i don't see how we can be sure he'd call a river bet with a lone 9. at the time i put that in the maybe category, and 6 in the unlikely category
