Live in local casino - The blinds are $2 - $3 not $1 - $2. Since i dont have the option for that....

Hand 1) A Guy who doesnt understand SDV opens from CO to $18 Button calls and then i have SB KK stack size of $100. I jam and the CO calls, has AA - This is not a bad beat, just a cold deck.

Hand 2) UTG+2: Limps
MP +1 : Limps
CO(Hero) $190 : Limps
BTN (Villain) $600 : Limps - Same guy who cold decked me
SB:Call $1
BB:Check

Pre Flop: (pot: $18 ) Hero has 4s4c

Flop: (5 players) 4d 7c 10s

They all check - Hero bets to $12 , BTN raise to $30 , SB calls, Hero re raise to $90 , BTN goes all in ,SB folds

I just studied poker all day and work so hard but still variance hit me. I smiled and left the table.

I said to myself had to rest and come back tomorrow stronger and harder.

I am thinking if i should get a coach but i am learning so much on my own. Is anyone in Sydney who would like to talk about poker?

That is a tough one bit of an over bet jam though I probably would have 3 bet before jamming and then jam and any time you flop a set the odds of the other opponent having you beat i believe are like 1/100 so just keep grinding.

Oh sorry dude I didn't see that. I think this is largely a cooler but once he 4bet shoves like I don't know how many combos we beat. I think by this point he has either T7 or a set and even T7 might get away here. I wonder if we can discount sets because 77 and TT would raise right? Or that is villain dependent. Draws won't 4bet jam so he's completely value heavy here. Probably pretty close spot. If you think he is capable of over valuing things, it's a snap call, otherwise give it a good think

Typical live low stakes players love over valuing hands and fist pump get in JJ+ here and maybe even A10. You are giving them far too much credit.

Or slowplayed AA haha. Going broke here is more than fine. If this is your worst bad beat, prepare for even worse in the future. I once flopped a set with 4s and got stacked by KJ on K4xr by runner runner 220bbish deep on K4xKJ. I actually almost folded on the river to his check-raise, but ended up clicking call at the last second when my time bank started running out.

I'd say you did what you could and played it right. I've just started out playing 1/2 live and I had a few sets but fortunately they all held up. Only one paid off massively where I checked a flopped mid set to a guy who was tilting and I knew was going to raise me. I check, he bets pot, I raise, he shoves, I insta call all in. He had MPWK.

Definitely you hit a cooler, either set over set or runner runner something but I'm imagining most players are insta calling with a flopped set on a board like that.
