$200 NL HE Full Ring: Shortstack Donk Minraises

Only 11 hands on villain but note the stack size and stats so far indicate that he's pretty much an idiot. Obviously not enough hands to have anything actually converge so postflop stats are useless.

Full Tilt, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 8 Players

MP1: $216.45 (108.2 bb)
MP2: $308.30 (154.2 bb)
MP3: $57.70 (28.9 bb)
Hero (CO): $200 (100 bb)
BTN: $227.95 (114 bb)
SB: $54.25 (27.1 bb)
BB: $67.40 (33.7 bb)
UTG+2: $128.50 (64.3 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is CO with 8

4 folds, Hero raises to $6, BTN folds, SB calls $5, BB calls $4

Flop: ($18) 6

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $10, SB folds, BB raises to $20, Hero thinks wtf do I do now?

I hate folding an overpair 30bb deep. So I just get it in and pay off J6o who got a lucky flop. Or get paid off by Q3o.

I know 11 hands is nothing, but does he so far look like an aggro idiot or a passive idiot?

Could have a monster draw like 4-5 diamonds as well

His range is huge and he knows this board couldn't have hit you (well he thinks that anyway, I know better).

I'm always willing to get his stack in here.

I'm also never surprised to see a bad shorty do this and fold when you shove.

i think if villian had u crushed with a 6 then he would do exactly what he did do, min raise. If he had a flush draw then he would shove his other $10 or so in aswell so that he might get u to fold so he wouldnt have to make his draw. I would fold here as i would put him on a 6 and i dont really pay attention to pot odds unless im on a draw because the pot odds to call are good but if ur up against a 6 then ur 10% to win the hand and u aint getting odds that good to call.

Thinking about villain's range to make that minraise is more important than thinking about pot odds. As WV said, villain knows that flop is unlikely to have helped hero, so that minraise can be based on lots of hands that don't have a 6 - not only could this be a monster draw as begley pointed out, it could be any fd, overcards, pairs, and all kinds of junk. And, yes, it could be a higher pair, a 6, or 33.

That's why belgo was asking whether villain is passive or aggressive - the more passive he is, the more likely we're beat, the more aggressive he is, the more likely he's trying to make a move on the pot thinking that the flop didn't help us.

I'm also stacking here.

I think you just have to push it in here. If he has you with a 6 hes a lucky donk lol.
