Hi guys I would like some feedback on a hand that I played yesterday at a live 1/2 NL table.

Villain (UTG) limps, Hero (UTG+1) limps holding 5:club: 5:spade:, MP limps, BTN limps, SB limps, and BB limps.

The flop comes: 5:heart: 6:heart: 9:spade: $12 in pot

Villain bets $7, Hero raises to $20, MP folds, BTN calls, The blinds fold and Villain calls.

The turn comes: 4:heart: $72 in pot

Now my question is given that villain most likely made his flush as he was priced in with his draw to call my raise when the BTN called my 3 bet would you check behind in this spot or fire another barrel and fold to a 3 bet or a river value bet.
This is my third hand at this table so not much info on villain. I started the hand with 100BB while villain has over 200BB.

This is a dangerous board, as the turn not only completed a flush draw but possible straights also.

If UTG checks, I may just check. You have 10 outs to a boat/quads and it's quite possible you are behind. If you check and BTN bets, you at least know what UTG will do, and if UTG just calls, you can close the action with a call. Betting would only serve to beef up a pot with a really wet board against two limped opponents.

So btn is still in the hand? What 3 bet? And I assume villain has checked the turn?

You mean 8 outs not 10 :)

I will just sum up the action for you. Villain checked the turn, the BTN and I both checked as well. Villain shoved the river for my entire stack on a T:spade: I figured he completed the flush on the turn and checked the turn to induce a bet from me but I checked hoping to improve on the river and unfortunately I didn't so I ended up folding as there is not much I can beat in this spot

Im not really much of a live player, but here is my thought, why are you so sure the he was on a flush draw, there were plenty of draws on the flop and for all you know he could have 78s, any way i agree with the flop raise and since you got called by two players and another scary card turns i would say check after villain especially with one more player to act after you, and as played fold river...
did both btn and you folded?
With little to nothing info on your opponent river fold is a way to go, maybe, just maybe there is something with his river shove, certainly not much of a value bet and didn't seems like a strong player play, he might had a top pair there or a busted draw, so he bluff shove wanting to represent strength, and would he semi bluff flop bet with FD and call a raise but then again, i wouldn't gamble there either without the possibility to answer on any of the questions in this line... ]

so IMHO good fold

You had a pair and you let all these people limp in, where's the pre flop action. There was no pre flop action, so you did know where you stood in the hand after the flop, and it's also what made this flop so dangerous.

Well to me honest in a places i play live, which are not casino with regs and pros but with mixture of drunks gamblers and hobby players i see a lot more limping than in online cash games, specially on EP with low pocket pairs, and if we wanna put it in a TAG playing style it is fold pre, right?
