Live Full Ring - $1-$2 - maybe only 8 players

I am the Button with :ah4::4d4:
2 limpers and I limp (which I am prone to do on the button with ATC at a limpfest table like this).
BB checks - 4 in the hand

Flop:
:8h4::10h4::9h4:
Check, check, check-
I bet $12 and get 2 callers and one fold - 3 left in the hand

Turn:
:jh4: I now have an A high flush.
Player 1 raises to $40, next player folds, I call.

River:
:qh4:
Player One IMMEDIATELY goes all in with a stack bigger than mine (about $230 left). He had been aggressive the last few hours, but nothing like this.

So I......

fold, not close. calling off $230 to chop a $124 pot makes no sense.

or if you'd prefer good advice, fold.

I folded, flipping up my A,and a couple of the guys at the table were shocked amd wondered how I could fold that.
This hand was knid of unusual for me -
1) I onlp limp the button about once an hour with ATC just to play the position - as in this case when the flop was checked down.
2) I rarely chase a flush unless I am getting better than 2.5-1

The other guy was holding 7h and hit his straight flush on the turn. The guy who folded the turn said he had the Kh

Wow...they must be bad if showing them the Ace of hearts makes them genuinely believe it was any different to showing any any two cards in this spot. I'm unsure as to why you showed an irrelevant card anyway apart from showing your range of hands? It's not like you even had a hand to fold, you had nothing but a split at best. I'm still baffled and can't work out how the table was shocked and wondered how you folded here..whilst exposing an Ah..or am I reading it wrong?

Splitting at best here in this spot, a nasty spot granted but I don't think I call purely because his play looks so much like "I have a kingh" here but lets hope you call for the "split".

EDIT: As it turns out, the guy who shoved had a 7 straight flush on the turn and "shoved the river" with still, a split pot, he seems really bad. Maybe he thought his 7straight flush was the nuts here, except it was far from it.

It actually reminds of a hand with Daniel negrenu and the magician, I think the turn card was a straight low flush and DN re-raised on the river and the magician folded thinking DN had a 6 high straight flush or something. It felt so much like that too :p

Live poker folding anything better than top pair is usually considered an incredible feat.

LOL, that it is!

And you have it right Ram. I had no problem folding. It was a no-brainer for me. I did kind of kick myself in the butt for not considering the fact that he did exactly what I would have done had I been in his shoes. Don't know that it would have changed my action.
I had another nut flush chewed up by another SF just two weeks prior.

All the conversation happened because right after that they switched out decks.

fold pre. I can see playing A4 suited in a multiway limped pot, but A4 os is asking for disaster even if you get to see a flop for cheap.

If he's bluffing thinking you don't have the Kh, then kudos to him.
