Situation: live cash game at Crown Melbourne - the only casino in town. Absolute rake monster (10%, capped at $20), but that's what a monopoly will do. Table is currently 8 handed. UTG+2 is not enjoying himself - he is one of the two weaker players at the table.

Hero is on the button with JJ.
UTG limps, UTG+1 folds, UTG + 2 (villain) bets $6 and it folds to hero.
Hero bets $18, folds to villain who calls. Pot is $41.

Flop comes Kc Tc Th. villain checks, hero bets $25, villain calls. Pot is $91.

Turn comes 8d. Villain checks, hero checks. Pot is $91.

River is 2d. Villain bets $45.

Hero calls. Villain reveals KJ off-suit.

You should 3bet bigger preflop.
I'd say around 25$.
The flop is to dangerous for JJ to cbet.
Your best play is to check back and turn your hand in to a bluff catcher.
By betting your are getting value only from small pairs(if continues on the flop) and some AQ, since you're blocking AJ,QJ.
From the size of his bet on the river seems to me like a weak Kx value bet.I don't think that missed draws or showdown value hands will bet there like 99.

So, you check the flop. What if villain bets the turn? Do you call there?

You can't fold to a single bet on the turn unless you have some good reasons to do it.
Call the turn then evaluate the river.
It's better to check back the flop because a single Kx won't double barrel in that kind a board. So you could probably save yourself some money.
