$200 NL HE Full Ring: Live: trips on dry board against newcomer

Table has been very passive in general. I have been tight and it's noticed. I've gotten away with a few check raise bluffs (and showed two to set up this hand) including one within the last three hands with ATo. Since the start of the newcomers session I also called down the casino reg with bottom pair successfully (bb special). This new guy came in and this is about two orbits into his session, this is the first hand he's played:

UTG: calls ($150)
newcomer: calls ($200)
two folds
rounder calls ($600)
casino reg calls ($200)
co folds
button calls (160)
sb (me) with Th8h calls ($360)
bb checks ($65)

Flop
8d 8c 3h

me, bb, and utg check
newcomer bets $10
rounder folds
casino reg calls
co folds
button calls $10
I raise to $50
bb folds
utg folds
newcomer thinks for about 40 seconds and calls
folds all around

Turn (pot $124)
(8d 8c 3h) 4s

sb: ?

Given my image, and the remaining stacks ($150 and $310), what's next? Do we just shove here?

Check-raising the field on such a dry board in a limped pot is just completely turning your hand over. I much prefer leading since it can rep a wider range and also guarantees you get at least one bet in.

I have no idea what type of range to put him on; I've heard ridiculous things from both ends of the spectrum for live play. People stack ace high, but then I hear some are so weak-tight they'll fold A8 here...so I have no idea :p

He can't really have much here (except trips - most likely bigger - or a horribly played 3x) unless he limped 99 or 77 or something.

In this spot image is pretty much irrelevant imo. When you c/r like that even the dumbest of idiots are going to see it's pretty strong. Now they may remember the bluff and call down with like 66 or something but I still doubt that. Instead of just seeing you have trips you have to look at what you hope to get action from and how you hope to get it. Of the hands you get some action from in this spot check-raising is bad imo. You basically fold out everything worse with the possible exception of them not being able to fold 99-JJ here because omg he has an overpair. So yeah I like leading, it doesn't look as insanely strong, they'll call with all sorts of junk overcard-type hands that you crush, and you can get a ton of value.
