<div>Hero ($520 stack) is on the small blind with K-Q suited in a live $1/$3 NLHE game.

We are 9 handed and villain from the low jack open raises to $10. Villain has a stack of $125 and was moved from another table. This is his first hand at this table, so we have no information on villain except for the fact he seemed like he was in a bad mood.

Action folds to hero who 3-bets to $25. Big blind fold and villain says with obvious frustration, "F$&K it, I'm tilted, I'm all in" and literally snap shoves for $125 total ($100 more for hero to call - 3.28:1 odds).

Hero tanks for a bit then asks villain "why are you tilted?" Villain ignores the question and says, "what are you waiting for? The math says you have to call." Hero tanks some more and constructs villain's range to be any suited ace, pocket pair, ace + medium or better kicker, or high suited connector. In this situation, hero would then be flipping for the best hand more often then not.

Outcome of hand revealing one of villain's cards:
Hero calls and the board's highest card was a Queen, giving us a pair, with four other brick cards. Casino rules says we have to show first and we are good... I had no idea what he had so I said "ace high?", he turns over once ace and mucks the other card then reloads for 100BB.

In this situation, would you have called or folded, and why?</div>

Easy fold imo (haven't seen spoiler).

Despite his tilt, how many hands in his range are you beating? KJ/QJ/J10? Can't see him opening with anything less...

I think your range for him is pretty good except for the suited connectors... he's more likely to try and limp to see a flop that he can shove.

Edit: I don't think your pot odds are correct. After the shove, it's like 1.5 to 1

Later I learned that villain was LAG, he actually had the highest VPIP of the entire table. If I knew sooner it would’ve been an easy call. If he wasnt on tilt, I would’ve leaned more towards folding. It was a weird spot for me with his body language, fascist expressions, and speech play.

KQ is not a good hand to be calling all ins like that, even against a LAG on tilt.

I also think you fold here. A call is just gambling. His tilt speech can indicate strength too. If you construct his range as mostly flipping, I would wait because you are going to have an edge over him for the rest of the session, and there is no need to flip with him.

Haven't looked at spoiler. With no info on the villain besides what's given, I actually lean toward thinking that he is stronger rather than not. It's tough when it's the first hand, but people with bluffs tend to be a little less confrontational (the whole "you have to call, the math says so" thing seems strong to me). Even if he's on tilt I'd expect him to not answer, or say something more conciliatory and less in your face. Plus people tend to play up their tilt (even when they truly are tilted) in spots where they hold the nuts or close to it to be able to say "you know I'm tilted - I could have anything here."

Now, he might legitimately just not care what you do because he's tilted, and he WANTS a call with a marginal holding because he wants to gamble for his last $125. But I would lean toward thinking he's got it. I've certainly called in this spot before too though, and it seems like fairly weak pocket pairs could be in his range too so I don't fault a call really.

I actually think I might just call the $10 preflop though. Even if we go 3ways including the BB this hand plays fine, and if we 3bet and BTN calls, we're looking at an SPR of 2. I'd rather just keep stacks a little deeper but it can be a bit of a personal strategy/preference type thing.

After seeing spoiler: Yeah I assume if he held AK he would show both since it's a "bad beat" for him and he gets to show you how lucky you got or whatever. As it is, more likely his other card was low, but all that really tells you is how to play moving forward vs him. NH.

From the small blind, I thought my decision was binary: raise or fold - because I would have to play the flop from out of position. KQs was also a hand that blocked potential combinations like QQ or KK so with any hand that wasn't AX, I feel like villain (with little info at the time) would have folded if he played ABC poker (or called with medium+ pocket pair).

Didn't look at spoiler yet. Fold.

He has aces most likely. Or he has you crushed and over coated. I like the 3b, but fold here.

Now I will check the spoiler and see if I'm right.

Thanks for feedback. Did you delete all of the videos from your vlog? I can't find detroit poker videos anywhere on YT and I've seen a few vlogs in the past.

I made them all private. YouTube is tilting me, and I see no purpose of continuing the vlog.

What’s causing the tilt?

YouTube is backlogged with applications to approve channels for monetization. Apparently it takes months.

That, and the fact vlog is like a second job.

And, people in my hometown are talking about "Detroit Poker" much more than I anticipated. I was trying to remain anonymous.

So I took the channel down. What a waste of time and effort that was. Live and learn.
