It's the usual live table, inside straight chasers, bottom pair stations, 0% fold to 3bet guys.

I'm in CO with :9s4: :9d4:. UTG limps, HJ calls, I raise to $18. Folds to UTG who calls, and HJ calls.

UTG is has never limp folded to a bet under $20, and HJ had just called a 3bet OOP two hands previous with QTo.

FLOP ($58)
:8d4: :5h4: :2s4:

It checks to me and I bet $35 with $135 still behind. UTG folds and HJ insta calls.

TURN ($128)
:3d4:

HJ leads in to me for $25, which was weird. An important note is in the QTo hand he had previously he checked in to the pre-flop aggressor on flop and turn when it was a QQx flop. So with that bit of info plus with his general weakness, I didn't feel he had better than me. Im thinking with this weird bet his range is almost exclusively flush draws with 2 overs to the board, or maybe 76, but would like to know people's thoughts on my assumptions.

So with that range in mind I felt my best option was to shove, so I did. Villain had me covered and called. River was :7h4:

What are people's thoughts on this one?

I'd be shoving the turn too and I'd expect hands like K8 and A8 are going to call me. I'd also expect OESD's and flush draws to call as well.

With your stack size, you're committed to stacking off and the turn is the best time to do it. If he 2 pairs, a set or a straight, then bad luck, but I'd expect to win this more often than not and I'm therefore shoving the turn, just like you did.

That's just to keep the bias out of peoples replies to what they thought of the hand. For some people it's easy to say I should fold/call when they know the outcome.

I know at the time it was hard for me to fathom why he would lead with an 8x type hand, but now after all is said and done its definitely the type of hands I need to range to these villains in these spots.

Plus when I think about it, I might lead with 8x there too, as there are a heap of crappy rivers. But I'd lead for more obviously, but by that stage I'm definitely pot committed and if shoved on would feel sick putting in the rest of my chips. So may be I wouldn't donk if i was in villains shoes lol might have to try and math this one.

I'll wait to see if anyone has anything else to say before I post result. Thanks for the input Matt

Shoving and happy about it

Well when he called he tanked called, so I was quite relieved he didn't insta call. So once that river came I knew I was good nearly all the time, as I dodged the flushes and over cards etc.

Villain showed 66 and got super angry and grumpy, he couldn't believe I had 99. He stayed grumpy until I left a couple hours later
