Whatever our stack sizes I'm for sure never limp/calling 88 here, UGH!!
I agree. 4 handed, 88 is a fairly strong starting hand and I would be leading out here. I prefer to be the aggressor, especially in short handed scenarios.
His raise on the flop is a little suspicious, considering how large it is compared to your bet. Although your lead out bet is weak compared to the pot size, so it is possible he sensed weakness and tried to push you off with two overs. Personally, I would either fold to his bet or re-raise him, all depending on how you feel about his hand. I hate flat calling when I have a mid-pair thats over to the board, too many cards that can hit that will make your decisions harder down the road.
