Live game at the Horseshoe in Baltimore. I probably have a super tight table image, as I've gotten shit-all for cards and shown down some pretty big hands when I have shown down (I know, wtf right?).

The SB reg in the hand has seen me play a ton of hands, it's probably the 5th hour of the night. Likes to call with junk when 3-4 players are in the pot and play fit/fold. Has laid down top pair in a multi-way pot. I've never seen him 3-bet.

8 handed
Hero has K♣J♣, ~$325 in stack

UTG limps, $3
Drooler limps, $3
UTG+2 limps, $3
Hero raises to $20
2 folds
SB Regular calls $20 (has me covered, ~$700 deep)
2 folds
Drooler calls all in for $15
UTG+2 folds

Pot $54, Side Pot $10
Flop: KQJ
SB Reg checks
Hero bets $15
SB Reg calls

Pot $54, Side Pot $45
Turn: KQJ 2:heart:
SB Reg checks
Hero checks

Pot $54, Side Pot $45
River: KQJ 2:heart: 2:spade:
SB Reg checks
Hero value bets $25

I've been out of practice for too long. I didn't want to inflate the pot and play for stacks with a nit reg with top & bottom. And betting into a fairly empty side pot is pretty strong. So I kinda brain farted and went with the tiny bet.

The turn & river I'm just lost. He's probably not going to bluff me with the side pot, so should I bet the turn for value to get calls from the ace of hearts & hands like AK/QJ? Is the river bet too obviously for value?

Idk, the presence of the shorty throws a wrench into this whole damn hand.

Why check on the turn?

You are lucky he didnt get any of his draws.

Preflop - 50/50 on the 3-bet, also go bigger like $25 or $30

The Drooler can be ignored

Flop - Betting $35 as played

Turn - Lead again for 3/4 pot

River - Value bet whatever you think will be called. I like the 1/4 pot size.

pre fine,
flop maybe a tad bigger
turn go 1/2 pot and fold to c/r obv
river: vbet small imo.

Think on this board and your description of him, his range is far wider than just hearts and we need to charge all the Kx, Qx, Jx, 10x, A9, AJ, etc. that have a gutshot

Bleh. Villain just called on the river and flipped over Ah7h. I like to think I had a read and remembered his nitty play in a few previous hands, but more likely I was snake bit and playing scared.

He might be putting you on KK-JJ so hence he just called, you did show strength pre. I would have bet the turn(fold to a re raise) and check the river. But since you checked the turn and he checks the river so your value bet on the river isn't that bad.

Well you have told me off before for not being aggressive enough so I will tell you straight you played it like a nervous kitten... bet bigger on the wet flop to properly charge any draws, you almost certainly have the best of it on the flop so get some value in there.
If he calls a decent sized cbet (which he probably would have) and the heart comes then I don't mind slowing down.

the flop sizing should be $30-$50. the turn :H: is less scary than it would be in some circumstances since not much of villain's range is 2 hearts (because he has so much other stuff on that flop that he continues with after your tiny bet). so i would bet again.

having not bet the turn you definitely are strong enough to extract some value on the river. at least you didn't check that thru.
