Hi guys, just want to get some opinions on the following hand. Many thanks in advance!
Home Cash game. $1/$2 blind.
Hero(SB): $600
Villian(CO): $500 (Aggressive and loose pre-flop)
Deuce seven bounty is in play. Winner gets $4 from each person.
4 people including Villian limped to Hero in the SB with 2c7c. Hero attempted a steal with a rise to $12. MP and Villian called.
Flop 2s 9s 6s. Hero cbet $30. MP folded. Villain smoothed. At that point Hero was putting him on naked high card flush draws(hands with AsKsQs), top pair with no flush draw, middle pocket pairs with flush draw.
Turn came 4s. Hero thought about giving up right away but thought about how Villian probably couldn't call a turn bet without a good spade. Any top pair hand or pocket pairs with no spade probably can't withstand another barrel. Decided to bet $65. Villain smoothed again. At this point hero thought Villain likely had a spade and would not fold on most rivers.
River came 8h. Hero checked, Villain bet $180 and Hero mucked. Just as Hero thought he was the one who was bluffing all along, Villain flipped over 3h7d.......
Really not sure what to make of it. Hero has been hitting a lot of hands but hasn't really shown any big bluffs. In retrospect, would a river bluff by Hero have worked even though his turn bet has been called?
Many thanks
