this is live and a really soft table.

I've got ~$480 to start (240bb)
villain just sat down like 3 hands ago with $250 (125bb) and hasn't played a hand yet.

so it folds to my button and I have :ad4::as4:

I raise to $10 (table standard)

SB folds

BB takes a minute then raises me to $25.

I decide he doesn't have to be really strong considering its BB vs Button so I decide to flat to underrep my hand and play a pot in position. this might be a mistake but I felt pretty confident he would just muck if I 4bet.

pot contains $51

flop :jh4::7s4::3c4:

he checks to me. I bet $25 he insta calls

pot $101

turn :8h4: he checks to me I bet $40 (I should probably bet bigger but I'm being kinda trappy and trying to get him to call with his QJ type hands or A7 type hands.)

He thinks a while then raises me to $120. He only has $80 back.

Hero? obviously I'm thinking "Fark! why did I underrep my hand? Why didn't I just play my AA fast?" but that's not what happened so now I'm on this turn and have to decide how to proceed.

As played I think its easy to get it in here. At a 1/2 game not a lot of players are going to be 3-betting suited connectors, his most likely holding is QQ/KK. JJ doesnt make sense. Why would you checkraise someone who is barreling into you while you hold the nuts? Even if he shows JJ here the shove will be profitable in the long run.

+1 You will find a lot of players will play AhKh this way. Granted some may play KK/QQ/JJ this way as this board will be too wet in their mind to what they perceive your 3-bet flatting range is.

I'd just shove my entire stack in his face not much to do if he hit a set on you. He could be playing a flush and straight draw this way. I absolutely love those soft live tables mmmmmmmmmmm brings back good memories of poker 2003 to 2011.

Good Day. I am sorry if I am misplaced my Comments over here.I have had playing poker since 2008. Love the game but its extremely dangerous. No matter how good you are always anything can happen. Then I do undertand a rule that poker game ends a river and not on the flop neither in your pocket cards. Recently if anyone notice on PS its get harder to win or even get even.
And special attention brought to me that sometimes when you are tightly ahead the turn and river comes like tsunami to destroy all your game. An example like K 9 3 , then it comes to 10 J.

I shipped it in basically just cuz my hand was underrepresented and to charge the flush draws and random 1 pair hands the Max. And cuz I didn’t know what else to do. I half expected to be shown a set of 8s or 7s

But to my surprise he tank folded. How Weird! He must have had nothing? Or a gutshot? Weird.

that is the trap you find yourself in when under repping. glad you came out ahead, it works often enough to piss you off when it doesnt.

Obviously 4betting with AA preflop is the standard line but when you decide to trap with monster pocket pairs you should definetely do it with AA and not with QQ/KK. I think it can be really profitable to trap AA every now and then but it's better to do it with some more information. Just because he 3betted you in a BB vs button situation doesn't mean he's weak. But you shouldn't trap your AA too often, usually it is more profitable to play your hands straight forward.
As played shoving your AA on the turn is pretty standard IMO. You beat some of his value bets and he can have quite a few bluffs here. Especially because it is extremly hard to put you on aces on this flop. When you're hand is underrepped you should tend to call/reraise villain's raises more often.

I like how you played it. I do 4b pre vs most though. :)
