$200 NL HE 6-max: QQ against cold 4bet

Original raiser: 30/22, small sample, seems like a decent lag/tag.
4bettor: 23/18, %6 3bet (I realize he's 4betting here, but his 3bet might give us a clue as to his overall preflop game), 2.2 4bet %. Has been surprisingly passive this session.

I've been lag/tag at like 28/22 or so as well.

Obviously HJ vs CO vs BTN our ranges are going to be a lot stronger, and I'm not sure his 4bet % is near that 2.2, ie I don't think TT-JJ is in his range, but it's possible.

Stack?

UTG: $80 (40 bb)
MP: $305.15 (152.6 bb)
Hero (CO): $201.80 (100.9 bb)
BTN: $219.35 (109.7 bb)
SB: $62.60 (31.3 bb)
BB: $200 (100 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is CO with Q Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $6, Hero raises to $20, BTN raises to $48, 3 folds, Hero ...

I usually fold AK and stack QQ.

You may prefer throwing a coin because EV-wise it almost doesn't matter what you do. Fold = low variance.

This is a tough spot. He almost minraised you, seems like he was trying to pot commit you. If you call the pot is ~100 and you both with have about 150, which is why it seems like he is trying to get you pot committed. I feel like he has AA, but it is a tough fold

Anecdotal evidence ftw: I saw a reg with similar stats do this (except he was in the SB, not the button) and then fold to my shove this weekend. A cold 4-bet doesn't have to be the nuts.

There's a lot of money already in that pot making up for the times when this isn't AK (you're 40% to win vs KK+/AK) and that makes folding mostly out of the question. So the question is: "I'm out of position with queens and can't fold; how do I want to play it?" and I think the answer is a very non-fistpumpy shove and then turn your attention to another table. :)

Without looking at others' comments I was curious to know what your table 3bet% was looking like because the question is does the button think you're a habitual isolating 3bettor. Playing PURE QQ vs 2.2% it's a 50-50 flip but you have to think his range is bigger than that in this situation, and if so, you've gained what you need to 5-bet shove.

+1.

If you 3bet in position as much as i suspect you do, then i'd probably cold 4bet light from time to time against you. And if you're ready to fold QQ, 4betting you light is most likely profitable given the bluffing odds.

Whether this particular reg is able to do that is another question, of course.

Excellent posts guys and you've pretty much summed it up. Posted this during my ongoing downswing because I get unsure about standard spots like this. That said, very very few 200nl regs cold 4bet as a bluff which makes this still somewhat close.

I shipped, he had qq.
