We were outdrawn here, happens all the time.
We are OOP, the opener and with a flop that hits our range. I think c-bet is almost mandatory here and since the second 5 doesn't change much bet the turn and check/fold the river would be the best options. Maybe betting two streets is over representing our hand but not betting the turn is like saying "I bluffed the flop" if we c-bet there.

I think that you should had done a C-bet on the flop to see where you were against your opponent. If he just called, you should had done another bet on the turn. If he called again, I would not bet on the river.
Knowing where we are is a product of the villain reactions to our bet, not a reason itself.
