Calling here is fine to keep a wide steal range in. That is, if the button is actually stealing.

You haven't told us anything about the villain, stats, reads etc.

Poker doesn't work in a vacuum unfortunately

I don't have any stats, as said, this is Rush. I don't see why we can just say he's raising from the button, he must be stealing.

Because not everyone is stealing from late position. Quite a lot of people do not. You can have stats for rush too btw

The vast majority of button raises in rush are steals, due to the generally tighter starting hand ranges. Therefor AJ is definitely worth 3betting from the blinds. By flatting you're OOP for the whole hand and he has the betting lead.

That's what I said. Why do we have to assume he's stealing and thus 3bet? I have a medium hand that I don't mind playing a flop with and if he is stealing were folding out a lot of worse hands and it's the kind of hand where we only get called when were behind if we 3 bet?

Because everyone steals a hell of a lot in Rush - I've heard some regs have steal stats of 40%? - and because if he is stealing you are playing a medium hand OOP against a super wide range with no initiative?
