UTG+1: $26.12
MP: $23.79
CO: $25.00
BTN: $22.93
SB: $30.99
Hero (BB): $25.00
UTG: $8.85

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BB with K :spade: K
4 folds, BTN calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.25, BTN calls $1

Flop: ($2.60) A  3  7 :club: (2 players)
Hero bets $1.70, BTN calls $1.70

Turn: ($6.00) A :diamond: (2 players)
Hero bets $3.75, BTN calls $3.75

River: ($13.50) 8  (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $6.44, Hero folds

Few questions about this hand.

1)Is the cbet OK, i figure he calls with plenty of fd's and 45/56 type hands, i just dont wanna have him check it back and a heart comes off on the turn.

2)Is the barrel OK, i think this weighs him more towards fd's and random stuff now, i'm obv b/f'ing but is it OK?

3) River c/fold?

Its a pretty nasty river card, c/f looks good.

nh imo, I might go into c/c mode on the turn against aggressive regs though.

i kind of want to bet $2-3 as a blocker bet and get called by worse pp's and 7x

I actually think thats cool tyler.

Any other turn than a heart then i check planning to call any river bet pretty much i think. That's if we're putting him on flush draws, stats would be nice because i could go many ways depending on type of fish.

Preflop I usually make it $1.50 here. I expect to get called with around the same frequency as with the $1.25 bet but my way gets 20% more money in the pot pre.

Reads would be nice but I often check this flop tbh. I'm not too worried about the flush since the Ah is out and we have the Kh with the added equity of the bdfd.

I just feel like our hand looks a lot like Ax in this spot so we fold out most worse hands with our cbet. Cbetting is fine just to take down the pot and move on to the next hand but being oop, it turns into a super thin spot once we go past the flop.

If we check, this fish ( assuming he is by stack size and that he open limped in LP) will either check or bet. If he checks, this is fine imo since we have a marginal hand at this point and are not going to be thrilled about money going in over 3 streets right? His range is likely so wide anyway that the fd isn't that big of a problem. Stove his range and check to see how often this guy has a fd on this flop. When we remove the Ah and Kh it takes away a lot of possible flush draws.

If he bets then he'll often give off some kind of info. If he bets small then we can call down obviously. If he bets like 2/3 - 3/4 pot on the flop I call and check again on the turn. If continues showing strength I probably just give up but more often than not the fish will feel like they're being trapped and either check back the turn - again good for us cuz we only want 1-2 streets of money here imo - or bet small. If he just keeps betting small then you can profitably call down and get a showdown.

Overall I just feel like we gain much more in information by checking oop than by betting in spots like this.

I agree. But generally we're not getting 3 streets of value out of this hand, though your bet/fold flop and turn and then go super small on the river has merit too, and I like it as long as fish is super passive and stationy.

Without much in the way of reads though I only want money to go in over 2 streets unless its 3 small streets which tends to happen a lot when you give the fish the initiative.

I'm with tenbob, I like the river c/f. Originally I thought going for the triple would be really sexy but I can't really give villain credit for holding 99-JJ as i'm sure most would raise. I can see why we'd bet river but I don't but I just think it's pretty thin and c/fing can't be terrible since he checks behind pretty much everything we beat most of the time and is usually always betting hands that have us beat
