$20 NLHE Full Ring: Think I played it correctly, even though I hooked the river ??

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 64.71/11.76/3.5

Felt like I played it correctly, not many hands on him for the stats obviously but had seen him spaz out a couple of times already so not only did I have lots of draws (felt even the T or J would be good let alone the spade or Q) figured my implied odd's were high.

Anyhow look forward to see what everyone's thoughts are, thanks.

Idk just feels like usually a set of deuces or 88s right here, but with donkey shoving full stack on river into a pot of 33... I'm guessing he had Ajs or AQs.. Could be total idiot shoving weak ace or busted a8 or a2 two pair on the river!

Remember he has called from the SB... He's got a decent holding accepting to be out of position for the hand. 17 hands isn't enough to justify a read on this guy either.

SB position should be in someones tighter range, I hope you checked on his position vpip perhaps? though we aint got enough reads.

You should've let go on the turn tbh.... we will rarely get paid when the flush gets out and the SB will be tighter range. This guy will think we are either chasing the flush or got some weak mid range A. and he knows he's good unless flush gets out.

DOn't be a fish man :)

with 17 hands no point really to checking positional, since it might be 2 sb hands in there but he had been flatting lots of the hands played from just about all positions and even based on 17 hands the stats are shaping to be a fish pre and maniac post.

i actually contemplated raising the turn for a moment with a thought it would push him off a bluff but why would I want to put someone off a bluff, well other than the fact that I'd be semi-bluffing myself and it gives him the chance to reshove so I opted to call given i felt I had 19 outs (13 if he did in fact have an A) and granted i can't discount the times I'm drawing dead (AK, 22, 88, K2, K8, KQ) just given his agression if/when I do hit I'm often picking up his stack since I don't expect him to slowdown.

That was my thinking in the hand anyhow, obviously it could end up either way and the math probably screams fold the turn..........eventually when I get around to finish reading the poker math book i got I'll have a better knowledge to calc the math and see how good/bad my decision was but given I made it thinking implied odds its an iffy situation.

Thanks for the feedback so far, much appreciated.

We need to have some information on this villain on determining whether to make this call on the river or to make a fold.

If we have no information then i would lean towards folding because the line is too strong and the bet is a big one.

Since you say he plays post flop like a fish or maniac then i would advice calling this bet on the river.

Looks like we are coolered here i have this feeling, the way you played its clear call at the river, as long as we play for hitting the flush.

Wouldn't be a good spot to try and take someone off their hand. We don't have control of the hand for starters and if we try and make a play, he's definetly jamming there.

Sometimes you just gotta know when it's not a good spot.

Flop would've been the street you wanted to re-raise on and make your move. Always feel better with 2 cards to come but when only 1 card to come the odds diminish.
