1) made flush draw.. very possible
2) hit two pair (Q8?)
3) he felt you were weak and took a shot representing the flush
A few possibilities for sure... IMO I just call it here, his range is too big to know where we are equity wise very accurately. I like the call.. and I'm really intrigued to know what he was holding.
Regarding #3... LP's generally don't take shots or represent anything. They just call, call, call, call and call some more. If they suddenly start betting/raising they have something decent.
1 or 2 are very possible and I did see the results seanyj which actually don't surprise me a ton even though he clearly played it about as badly as he possibly could.
I expect a villain like this to show up with almost any one pair+ hand. If he's betting into you I expect to in general see any Q, any flush, any 2 pair, any set any straight and possibly a hand like JJ
On another note..now that you know a little about him I don't mind a value reraise here against him in the future. He's clearly shown he doesn't pay attention to straight/flush cards and is only looking at his hand. Also that he has nfc how to value bet anything. To answer your question in the OP...yes this player definitely calls a raise here with worse..and with much worse most likely.
