$20 NL HE Full Ring: 25 NL 88 "overpair"

Here is a wierd situation I found myself in last night at 25nl:

Mamushi(16/12/2) : $29.15
Villian(29/13/2 over 38h): $12.00

Mamushi dealt 88

UTG Mamushi limps
MP2 Villian raises to .70
MP1 Calls, Mamushi calls
Flop: 6h5s5c
Mamushi checks, Villian bets 1.45, MP1 Folds, Mamushi calls
pot 5.35 Turn: 2c
Mamushi Checks, Villian bets 3.35, Mamushi folds

So, smallish bet preflop that I call to setmine. He is only C-betting %33 of the time, but this is the flop to do it on. Against his full raising range I am a 61 to 38 favorite. However when he fired the second barrel on the turn I thought "what does this?" Would a AJ or KT do this? Does he think I am on the draw with that flop? I put him on PP then, but I don't know if that is right, but the bet size seems right to fit that. Against 22+ I am only 41 to 59 in pokerstove. What do you guys think, did I wuss out too early with the 'clear' overpair?

I'd raise this preflop without thinking twice about it. Folding to the 2nd barrel is okay, albeit a bit weak. But he's not overly aggressive or anything, and there's not many draws he can have. Its not a terrible spot to be a little nitty.

You mean I should open raise UTG with middle pair, or I should have 3-bet? I think if I start raising UTG with middle pairs I am going to start getting 3-bet more often, and my image as a tight player really helps my c-betting (except against the regulars with huds:) )

You should definitely be opening with this hand from UTG.
