Full Tilt - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

CO: $15.86
BTN: $11.30
SB: $13.73
Hero (BB): $10.00
UTG: $10.15
MP: $7.75

SB posts SB $0.05, Hero posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has 7:heart: 7:diamond:

UTG raises to $0.30, fold, fold, fold, SB calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.90, 3 players) 6:diamond: 3:heart: 7:club:
SB bets $0.20,

Was just confused as the best way to play this one. (some of you may've seen my terrible play with top set posted in the cash thread) and was at a bit of loss here too. Here, I was planning on leading and getting value from hopefully a large hand from the UTG. With the donk though im pretty sure the correct play was just to raise it up and hope for a call?

Any stats? Most of the time a raise is need. The goal here is to obviously get our whole stack or most of it in either now or on a later street (given that the board does not worsen) so with that in mind we need to raise enough that we can get 3 streets of good value. I would most likely pump it up to something around 1 to 1.2

Pretty sure it's a raise, it's the easiest way I'd say to get your stack in the middle by the river.

If utg was really tight, like 9/5 or something, we'd consider flatting to not only make sure we keep his big pairs in, but to induce a raise. In that case, SB will often call the raise, we'll backraise, and everyone will be committed.

UTG is pretty loose though and just plain doesn't have a hand often enough (or bluff raise, ever) to make us flat.

Just raise whatever you think the SB will call, plus a bit.

I'd probably raise to a dollar or more in this situation, but also I think a call is wanted here so bet the amount you think utg will call

When your not in a three bet pot, you have to start to think about how your going to get the money in. That's why you called with your sevens in the first place right?

Take his donk as a blessing as you can now raise instead of him just calling
