Like I always say your 4 bet sizing is too large. Maybe this deep it is a little better then usual though.

I love the flop bet, hate the turn check and river should be a lead as played.

Why did you play so passive post? Were you afraid of 1010? Either way it is pretty poorly played post, you can easily bet/bet/bet on this run out for value against KK/QQ instead of worrying about villain flopping top set.

This ^^. I'm never folding postflop either on this board. Mainly because I bet, bet, ship river and I am calling any turn shove. TT, 88, 44, 33, JT are almost never in villains range. JJ are only marginally more likely in it. If he has any of those hands, fair play, bad beat, next hand....

KK, QQ, JJ and TT will all play the same pre flop. Given the dry, low flop it seems unlikely you are behind. Would T8s call preflop? Not likely. Only good hand is TT.

The 4 on the turn looks very safe too. I don't understand the check on the turn or the river. Were you trying to induce? I'd bet the turn and check call the river in spite of the JJ getting there. As played you are getting 3 to 1 and have to call the river.

Despite what his stats might suggest this player knows how to adjust his game against a tight player like me. He is really really not just going to gift me 170 BB over pair vs over pair. If I am up against anyone whom I consider a weak player I'll definitely bet bet bet this situation.

Here is my reasoning for the check. JJ will find a fold on the turn unless my opponent is tilting. KK will bet after my check so I don't think there is loss of value. So QQ is the only potential loss of value but then again it's not impossible to find a fold on the turn with it.

If the river was a blank I would have bet and got more value from JJ/QQ but of course it isn't a blank.

I open 3BB preflop instead of 2.5BB. If he raises to 9BB, I'm 4-betting to 27BB. :)

Why did you slow down on the turn? KK/QQ/JJ are paying us off and are very likely holdings.

Edit: read your reasoning. It's fine, imo.

I actually missed the fact you were 170bb eff, not sure how. If villain is flatting oversized 4b with JJ/QQ and folding blank turns & rivers then I hope we are barrelling any dry low board with AK/AQ

Pre through turn are fine. I might even 4-bet larger pre. I make a good size river bet though. I don't want his medium strength hands checking, and you can still do the impossible bet/fold getting "good odds" because he's never shoving a bluff this deep w/ those odds. So checking you're just risking giving him a cheap showdown. JJ isn't a great card, but it's also not the worse, and I think at this level, a river bet will get called lighter than it should.

I think good hand, well played, usually on 6-max game goes with more action, so i highly doubt villain can have TT, flop nice agresson, but check on turn, was not necessary, prefer bet turn, and hope he call with some weaker holdings, river dat J scare card, afraid JJ really, dat checkr from villain looks strong, but i'd snap call here.

Checking turn deep-stacked is probably the better option deep OOP. If he has a set, he's just going to call the turn and keep letting you hang yourself. 3-handed and deep-stacked, he can definitely have 1010/88 in his range. I don't think bet/bet/bet is that great. You're going to be committed on the river if he jams over you. He's almost never paying you off with any hand for 170bb other than AA or KK, with the latter probably finding a river fold.

Think hand was well played up until the river. I would lead for 1/2 PSB or a little more, and fold to a raise. He might check back hands with SDV, and might not bet a hand like QQ. We're pretty much always calling a bet, and I think leading out has some advantages over check-calling. We can control the size of the bet and get value from his SDV hands that might check back.

Thanks for saying that I was actually thinking I should have 4 bet larger and was surprised that people were saying I already 4 bet too much.

And yes I agree with you river check is probably bad however in this particular case it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the Villain had JJ. I have become results oriented like that.
