Villain had been 3betting me quite a bit in the preceding hands and it was beginning to annoy me.

I have 436 hands on him he's a 25/19 with 8% 3bet, and 3bets 10% from the blinds (I checked that at the time). Not a typical play for me but I thought I would try a 4bet bluff. When he flatted it I thought he prob didn't have a big pair so went for the c-bet.

What do you think? Spew or not? And how about the sizing?

Lol. Good point. I didn't realize I had done that.

But at 16nl I don't think people 4bet bluff enough to think like that, I certainly didn't but now you point it out its kind of obv.

Still, don't think he has a big pair, so how about my cbet?

Yeah, you've over-repped your hand here. You should have a 88-JJ. 22 is about the worst hand to 4bet bluff with even if you'd done it correctly.

Why not?
It sure looks like AA to me.Flatting a 4bet is always AA unless i have a note that states other wise.

I guess it's because I would mostly 5bet/shove AA to get all-in pre

nah regs love to flat AK/AQ as well since they don't know what to do with it when 3 bet.

never done this back raise before, is it profitable at all?

edit: but yeah, pick something thats more likely to hit a flop, if you miss with 22 when you're called you hate your spot like all the time.

If you have QQ+ it can be.

as random as it all is, he probably wasn't bluffing on most of his 3-bets ... just running into good cards vs. you ... still if you never push back, well you know your stats will reflect that, so maybe you lost in the pot, but scored on your stat-sheet (ha, little consolation)

Villain flated a 4 bet not a 3bet.And i doubt a reg ever would flat AK,AQ to a 4bet.
I mean the reason it is almost AA is because they know they have the nuts and they are tring to get at least one more bet out of the bluff.
Which it did:D

yeah i posted a hand in the HA section some time ago like this.Where BB had some ridic SQ% something like 20%+ so i CC on the BTN with KK to induce a sq which it did. Then the problem goes do i back raise or flat to get one more bet in on the flop etc.
Wish i could find that hand.....

and you know one of the later positions loves to squeeze, right?
Yes. It's generally best done on the BTN (and I mean on it not close) with the squeezer in the blinds so you'll at least be IP should the squeezer fail to do your bidding.
