Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 40/20/100

I think playing against shortstacks is one of my weaknesses, I always seem to just think 'oh he only has half a stack so stacking off can't be that bad' and end up stacking off too light in situations. Here's an example of a hand vs a fishy shortstack. His stats were only over 10 hands but it looks like he is a fish due to his stack, stats and min open from the CO.

888 Poker - $0.20 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: $10.56 (VPIP: 42.86, PFR: 19.05, 3Bet Preflop: 14.29, Hands: 21)
Hero (BTN): $20.05
SB: $20.60 (VPIP: 19.80, PFR: 15.68, 3Bet Preflop: 5.00, Hands: 614)
BB: $8.68 (VPIP: 53.33, PFR: 6.67, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 15)
UTG: $21.00 (VPIP: 19.30, PFR: 13.53, 3Bet Preflop: 4.61, Hands: 409)
MP: $10.00 (VPIP: 27.78, PFR: 12.96, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 57)

SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.20

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.30) Hero has K:spade: J:diamond:

fold, fold, CO raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $1.20, fold, fold, CO calls $0.80

Flop: ($2.70, 2 players) 8:diamond: 4:diamond: K:heart:
CO checks, Hero bets $1.60, CO calls $1.60

Turn: ($5.90, 2 players) T:spade:
CO checks, Hero bets $3.00, CO calls $3.00

River: ($11.90, 2 players) Q:spade:
CO bets $4.76, Hero calls $4.76

I don't know if 3betting pre is a mistake. I wanna play pots with this guy in position so feel KJo is good enough to do so but don't wanna flat a min open since the blinds will probably get involved. So is a small 3bet to isolate ok?

Postflop I guess flop and turn are pretty standard, not sure on sizing though. When he shoves river I obviously wasn't happy about calling but do you think we are good the 22% of the time we need to be to breakeven?

probably just calling pre there even though i dont know what his f3bet is. i think its going to be hard to say we can value 3bet KJo there.

Theres a lot of 2 pair hands that come in OTR and same two straight draws that get completed but im a station so Ill probs call the river as well.

Only 10 hands on him so no f3bet stat. Problem with calling is since it is a min open at least one of the blinds is nearly always going to come along for the ride, still maybe that's not so bad, I dunno

Over a sample of 10 hands I wouldn't be 3 betting him with this hand 10 hands doesn't mean anything, I believe I've been over 60vpip a few times over 10 hands, while my actual vpip is 21-22 at 6 max. As played you have to call.

yea so have I but his stats couple with his stack size strongly indicate a fish. Maybe your right though wait a few more hands to get a better read

kJ is not a good hand to star with, by 3betting and him callint thats tells u that he is not going anywhere and thathe have better than KJ maybe not AA, KK, or QQ, but AJ+ KQ, 10, jj or 99.
against this range u r in bad shape, so no need to cbet keep the pot small and hope for a chip showdown.

I'd 3bet to like .85 or something; your hand isn't THAT good so you don't wanna make your size super-polarizing.

As a standard I bet 1/2 pot rather than 2/3 (again less polarizing + you actually have to give yourself better odds than standard sizings assume you do because you're getting raked) but otherwise cbet flop is fine. I honestly might check behind turn and DEFINITELY fold river, because the only hand I beat here is K9, and K9 is not betting that river so that there are literally no hands there that bet that I beat.

KJo is too light to 3bet for value here.

Otherwise looks fine. Stacks are awkward sizes so can't really avoid the awkward sizing without alnost potting the flop. River is a call because of the busted flush draw but expect to be behind loads.
