villain plays: 50/20/3 with 14% 3bet over 68 hands, he did this min raise shit like 3-4 times in a row.

hero plays: 40/30/3 over 86 hands.

here is the hand:

Microgaming - €0.20 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (UTG): €20.30
MP: €20.00
CO: €14.75
BTN: €32.05
SB: €11.71
BB: €20.20

SB posts SB €0.10, BB posts BB €0.20

Pre Flop: (pot: €0.30) Hero has Q:diamond: A:spade:

Hero raises to €0.60, fold, CO raises to €1.40, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls €0.80

Flop: (€3.10, 2 players) 3:spade: A:heart: J:spade:
Hero checks, CO bets €1.50, Hero raises to €4.00, CO calls €2.50

Turn: (€11.10, 2 players) 8:spade:
Hero bets €14.90 and is all-in, CO calls €9.35 and is all-in

River: (€29.80, 2 players) 7:diamond:

What are your thoughts on my play overall? how would you have played it?

I'd rather donk than check raise. We can get the money in without needing a raise as he's not fully stacked and we don;t run the risk of weak aces we could have stacked checking back.

As played, I reluctantly call. It's going to be a flush alot but at least we have our redraw and can still expect weaker Ax a decent amount of the time.

I really dont like a c/r, would rather c/c but I think donking is best.

14% 3b over 68 hands not converged, not to mention that i bet most of this comes from blind defense, so his positional 3b from CO is going to be way lower which makes me hate 4b here, esp when you opened UTG.

flop c/r i hate for all the above reasons

Just because his 3bet isn't converged doesn't mean you don't have enough evidence to not 4bet

14% is still 9.5 times out of 68 hands. That's a lot, and plenty of evidence to start bangin' on him lighter than usual. We only need 9% to 4-bet AQo profitably here.

I think it's closer pre than you guys are suggesting. If we were suited I'd lean toward wanting to flat pre and bluff-raise a lot of flops where we have backdoors.

Because we don't have enough information on what kind of range he is 3-betting. If he's 3-betting merged we should 4-bet for sure. If he's 3-betting polarized we should be more inclined to flat. I can see the argument for 4-betting anyway since AQo doesn't play great OOP. AQs is a lot easier to play postflop.

I think it's safe to assume he has a merged 3bet range because:

1. he's short stacked
2. his stats are bad so far
3. "he did this min raise shit like 3-4 times"

In all, he's obviously pretty bad. What bad player do you know who know who 3bets a polarized range of suited connectors and good hands but won't also 3bet hands like AQ/AJ/KQ/KJ/QJ etc?

I think he is 3 betting medium pocket pairs and high cards, no bluffs in his range.

My only problem is, if I 4bet (which I did consider) what do I do if he shoves? I have no info on his 5betting.

he might be 3betting light, but I am not sure he stacks off pre with much worse than AQ. So do I fold to his shove? or do I stack off?

4bet shove or 4bet/call whichever you like imo

I think I like 4-bet shove better than 4-bet/call because there's a pretty high % that he will do something retarded like flat. If he's 3-betting medium PPs and high-cards then we're obviously in pretty good shape.

Looks fine to me. Villain is a fish, 75bb stack also. If I am calling pre here I am definitely getting the money in whenever I hit top pair.

I don't like the 4bet. I don't think we do well enough against his 5bet range.

14% is still 9.5 times out of 68 hands. .

No it isn't. Villain has played 65 hands, it doesn't mean he's had the chance to 3bet all of those hands. You need someone to raise and not have anyone 3bet before you.

I just opened my database and found someone with 72 hands played and their 3bet stat had only 36 hands recorded to it. This sample is far too small to deem villains 3bet% as definitly 9%+ UTG vs HJ. Not only that but even fishy villains are likely to have wider 3bet%s vs steals. as they would UTG opens.

in a vacuum it doesn't matter how we do vs his 5bet range, if he 3bets more than 8.5% iirc, 4bet calling or 4bet shoving AQ shows insta profit, infact it makes you more money here because he only has 75bb's.

I probably just 4bet shove (cause i dont like it when they flat and i have to x/f cause they dont fold any pair) and expect to be flipping with a hand like 88 a lot. I don't understand how you think you can be in bad shape vs a 50/20's with 75bb's 5bet range :S
