Terrible situation that can be avoided by not raising in this spot pf. And if your going to, don't call the raise. Of course it depends on the reads... which you didn't give.

Our hand has sd value, not keen on turning it into a bluff. imo we either bet for value or try to get to a cheap sd (it would really suck to get raised here).

I'm pretty sure you're best here like almost all the time so I probably bet for value/protection. It'll be tough to get to showdown and win the hand with 3 other people if a overcard hits, which makes up a ton of hands for the multiple villains.

Yep, that makes sense. However the more interesting question is, disregarding my pair and considering I had any two cards, would you still bet in a 4-way pot being checked twice to me, almost last to act?

Yeah bluffing here makes zero sense because a bluff by definition is a bet that folds out a better hand. Better hands are >T9, JJ+, monsters. None of which are ever folding.

If we had air I'd generally say it's about as good a board as you can target - no draws, very few pairs, nobody's shown interest...the problem is that this is microstakes where people don't fold anything, maybe not even AK/AQ/AJ here, nevermind any pair, and I wouldn't expect it to work that often. 3-way I'd start considering it just because there is a better chance nobody has a pair, and heads up I almost always bet with air here.

Yeah, bluff is not the correct term, I was tired lol more like a semi-bluff representing a 6. I did bet pot-size and everyone folded, so odds are they would have done that with air.

I'm just wondering if in the long run, it is +EV or -EV to bet like that in multi-way pots, assuming air/marginal hand. Of course, it is very villain dependent...

I think its a good board to bluff at with air for sure for reasons Chuck mentioned. I'd probably bet something like 2/3p if whether I'm bluffing or VB in this spot because there isnt a ton villains can have. It gives you a discount when youre bluffing and it maybe gets like 77-99 to peel light sometimes when you're VB.

Good. Was just trying to decide how often to do this kind of stuff in these situations. Obviously not every time, but if it's possibly +EV it's worth it.

Good idea about 2/3 of the pot, I bet the pot here. it worked but those 2/3 or 3/4 might be better...

Sorry, but I don't agree and nobody does either it seems. You won't find many situations in cash games where someone has a monster in a huge 4-way pot and keeps checking. On the flop maybe but turn as well? That would be stupid
