This is a hand for a short $2 PLO Zoom cash session earlier today, I am not much of a PLO player or cash player for that matter.

Unsure if I played this hand correctly. I hit the nut flush on the flop with the re-draw to royal flush and re-draw A-5 straight flush. There was no pair on the board so I knew that I was ahead as no 'made' full house was possible. So decided to bet pot with the aim to jam/call any 3bet/Jam.

Unfortunately for me villain hit the boat on the river. But did I play the hand correctly?

Thank U 4 Posting.

As played you made no mistakes post flop.

Preflop we should be 4 betting our hand. This is a hand we want to force the third player to have to pay more to chase and we can get all in vs the SB preflop.

If the flop comes A96 rainbow we get zero $ from SB when we were 63% preflop. We have to push those edges preflop.

Of course you still lose this hand but we need to be thinking about math edges in PLO not win loss per hand.

Hope this helps

Well played in my opinion. In the flop the small bet allows you to load the entire range of the villain's bluff. But your hand blocks many AXxx and KXxx combos, for which too many times, you will isolate yourself with against a range of value, which he can probably call and eventually increase out of position (but this is more likely in LAG players). If you observed in previous hands, aggressive actions of this villain, this sequence works very well against open calls that could not protect good his value line initial.
Greetings

Thank you.

I was unsure if i made the correct play pre-flop. I did consider a 4bet but decided to see a flop and re-assess, I think had my hand been double suited I would have put in the 4bet.

I think you are correct though the 4bet line would have been better. Out of interest what bet sizing would you say is optimal for the 4bet? Pot bet or smaller?

Thank U 4 responding.

If the third player has 8d7d5h4c they have 35% to win. U have 32.6 SB has 32.4.
I would think it would take a pot size 4 bet to get V2 to fold.

Wow would that be a great play for us.

If V2 is never folding that hand or similar holdings the best action is to half pot bet get V2 to dump their 15% - 20% equity hands preflop. If they will.

Hope this helps
