Le fold preflop.

Other than that, I like your line. We do not have to raise the flop, we do have to bet the turn and river though. I think the only argument to be made would be that to truly get all the money in we have to raise the flop but that essentially flips our hand up.

Surprised (and relieved) to hear pre-flop was apparently the worst of it. Why do you think this is not a sufficiently strong hand to play? Would it have been okay to enter the pot if I had a higher pocket pair than 22 along with Ac5c? How much higher would it have to be (A544+? A566+?)? Lotsa question marks here...

You don't have very many nut-making combinations. Only 52 and the suited ace can make the nuts (A5 makes non-nut straights to 56, 22 makes a non-nut set/full house).

Also, you don't hit that many flops. A hand like JT98 can hit at least a gutshot on any board from AKX down to 56X. As2s25 really only hits 34X, 2XX flops, A5X, and XsXsX flops. And the 2XX/A5X boards are reverse implied odds spots because you'll have top & bottom pair (instead of top two) or bottom set.

From the blinds (or anytime you're playing OOP), you want to hit a ton of flops and hit them really hard, so you can continue against their c-bets, and play profitably with the smaller implied odds that you have. Course, this holds true for any game (NLHE, 2-7 triple draw, ect.). Being OOP just forces you to make a hand more often.

Very well put above, re preflop play. I woulda folded this OOP also.

Re yr line on the flop, Marg is right, you may want to let him bet into you. But myself, I would be tempted to raise pot on flop to punish or fold a chaser. By not taking this line you allowed him to boat.

Overall, with no redraws in yr starters, I would push this flop.
