I know I'm breaking one of the cardinal sins by posting the result....but meh. I find myself in these situations from time to time, where one monster is beaten by another. Is there anyway you can get away from hands like this or is it always just going to end badly and you just cop it on the chin?

On the chin my friend. Just don't let these things affect your play. That is the subsequent negative that can occur which sends you on a 5 buyin tilt

I left about 2 hands after that. I didnt want to risk a tilt.

But I guess what I'm asking (this isn't a bad beat story...), is there anyway to get away from hands like this or are you always going to lose your stack?

If you start folding hands like that you will lose more from folding when your opponent is bluffing or over valuing his hand (like trip 8s in this example) than you will from getting beaten every now and then when villain has the nuts...

It's easy to retrospectively think it obvious that villain's line screams, "I have the (practical) nuts!", all the way through (min-raising UTG, checking and smooth-calling flop even though he was the pre-flop raiser, min-raising turn...), but in practice I could never get away from that turn. I'd convince myself that villain could have Ax or 8x or a spade flush draw very often in that spot.

I could only see avoiding stacking off by getting away from my hand pre-flop somehow. An UTG min-raise is sometimes a clue that villain has a premium hand. If I 3-bet pre-flop, and he 4-bets, I might be able to lay down my 9s, but short of that, I'm destined to lose my stack in this hand.

If you're getting 4bet you should lay down 9's...

ok it's allways bad to lose like this,it was inevitably...don't be sad about this,i mean any1 would do the same thing...but look at the brighter side of this, you lost just 1.36 $ so it could be worst ;)...your psychological victory came after your raise on turn,at that moment any1 would do all in trust me....i m really starting to belive that this online gaming could be a really settup :/
