Nothing wrong with the way you played it.

He opened UTG and called your 3-bet. There's a lot of A/K in his range.
I'm probably not even c-betting the flop here, just check/folding immediately.

The only realistic hand he has that we beat is JJ, imo, and I'm not sure that JJ calls a c-bet on that flop after being 3-bet pre.

yeah check flop and fold to bets on later streets. just check this one down

Well i almost always c-bet in position.If my br was higher i probably would call, some might not agree with me but sometimes u have to pay to get some reads.Like tim said he had probably a Ax or Kx hand, pockets < JJ are possible too.

Even 3-way? 4+-way?
Even when the board hits your opponent's calling range while you whiffed? (i.e. AhKh on a Ts9s8c flop)

"Always" and "never" are not good words in poker...

''Almost always'' means 70-80% of the time for me.As for the example you mentioned, checking is the better solution.It all depends on the reads and action.In my case, maybe i should have checked the flop.
